Not a big deal that needs a new version right away
one thing I would have the "Start with selected Recipe" do as well,, is bring over the notes
It doesn't seem proper at first, but if you are modifying an existing recipe, you may/will want the notes to come with it
you can always delete them if you want,, but it saves the trouble of locating them, and copy/paste to the new recipe

Also, not a big deal, but there is an exception in Ingredient Editor
when you select ONLY the text in the field and do a ctrl+c to copy that text.
You can just click continue on the exception and paste away without further issue.
See Exception info below.....

if you just click a cell and have it select the whole cell and hit ctrl+c
it will copy that cell to the clipboard
but, when you click to select a different field to paste to
the cell pasted to is One Cell over and One Cell down.

Version 4.0.2.0 is available. It adds the notes to the "Build recipe from ingredient amounts" window and it corrects the issues with the copy/paste in the "Ingredient editor" window.

hope to try this out in the next week or so when all my ingredients are delivered.

im sure its been asked before, but what is the easiest way to update the program?

If you already have the application installed you can click the "Help->Check for updates" and it will give you the option to go to one of the two URL's below to download the latest version.

The links are:
Google download

Dropbox download

Awesome! I knew it had to be simple, guess I was over thinking it

One other request I would add is to have the Data Folder carry over all my options from
one version to the next.
Keep the original Default xml's in case they are ever needed.
And put a Reset all Defaults button under Help.

Under Data, have a Folder for Original Defaults (or a better name, or just Default Settings)
During the upgrade (Portable or otherwise) place the Original Defaults from the install in the Original Defaults folder
and Personal Defaults just under the Data Folder. Something like that.
During install, it could check if there are any XML files under Data and if not, place a copy
of Original Defaults under Data.

It's a bit of a pain to go in and reset all the defaults by hand. Just a thought.

I don't think placing the options in the Recipes XML is a good idea. thought about it, but it could cause issues.

Thanks for a great Program

It sounds like you are of the belief that when you install an updated version that you are loosing all of your settings. When an update is installed it does not change any of the options that you previously set. It will also remember your last opened juice file and automatically open it after an update is installed. Are you seeing something different than that?

Ok, so when I install a newer version
I immediately Update the Portable Version on DropBox
I have the DropBox Synch app installed
So, I can then run it from my Laptop, Surface Pro or Desktop

So, maybe this is where the issue is.
The Portable version may be over-writing the Data Folder
Because when I go to open it,, none of the settings are kept.
Including where I last ran the Recipes.XML file from
Please, don't consider using the registry for settings.

However, I do typically uninstall the installed version afterwards.

I deleted my older versions, so can not properly test at this time
I don't typically do that either, I always generally keep a couple older versions, just in case.

thanks

I downloaded thist and now me and my friend have spyware by dEalpeaka that I can't get rid of with either malwarebytes or hitman pro

What anti-spyware application are you using that is detecting this? I would like to use it to check to see if my version has it. My Norton 360 doesn't detect any issues.

I've just discovered a small bug in the label printing functions.

First, the standard 'print label' function works in the program, but it doesn't send any data to the printer. Sheet comes through blank.

The 'advanced' label maker, which I'm using, works like a dream!..except it prints the labels quite a bit too low on paper. There is about 4-5 times more blank space above the printed section than below. Keep in mind, the preview window shows the text/picture centered.
Thankfully, HotRod built in an editor for every single template contained in the program, so all I had to do was adjust the top margin of my template to a lower value.

For anyone using Avery 5160, or any of the other identical templates, put the top margin to 0.39 inches to center your labels up nicely.

There's some unpaid labor for you Rob! And half a sheet down for testing :p
Something easy to throw into the next update, at least for the 5160 (and identical) templates.

Nothing against it, but ejuicemeup compared to this is like a Nokia to an Android.
And it just keeps getting better!! Can't thank you enough.

PS- To those have spyware/virus issues, I can 99% guarantee you its not from this program. Whatever you got was dormant in your system before this, or just really unlikely timing from something else you were doing. When only 2 out of the (hundreds?) who use this program have virus issues, and we all download from the same source- its not the program, its you.

I think you have that backwards,, Android to a Nokia. Lumia Icon, 1520 and 1020 out perform, out shine all other phones to date.
They smoke every other phone on the market for performance, durability and the Camera Quality is unmatched.
And of course,, can't forget Cortana.

I agree with the virus statement and EJuiceCalc.

Ah yes, I should have clarified. Comparison was between the level of technology in an old nokia brick, where you could just make calls, compared to the power of a current gen android phone. I'll have to work on my metaphors.
