Wonderful software HotRod. Is there any way that you can keep us updated when you do updates to it? I had to re-install on a new hard drive, and discovered that there had been some nice changes made.
I would like to create a "live-update" however there are several technical issues I have to overcome, that probably won't happen anytime soon.

I always post in this thread when I have made updates available. Also, you can always go to the "Help->Check for updates" and that will take you to the link where you can download the software and see the version number in the file name.

Hi HotRod,
I don't know if you want to add this or not, but I bought some of these nice 1.5" X 0.75" lab grade labels from nudenicotine DivBio Tough Tag Labels - Nude Nicotine and I added them to my my LabelSheetDefinitions.xml file. Here's the code I added to the xml file if you are interested in adding it for others that use these labels.

Code:
    <PrintLabelEntry>
      <LabelName>DivBio CLTT-1000</LabelName>
      <SheetWidth>850.0</SheetWidth>
      <SheetHeight>1100</SheetHeight>
      <LabelWidth>150.0</LabelWidth>
      <LabelHeight>75.0</LabelHeight>
      <SheetLeftMargin>25.0</SheetLeftMargin>
      <SheetTopMargin>31.0</SheetTopMargin>
      <TotalColumns>5</TotalColumns>
      <TotalRows>12</TotalRows>
      <ColumnSpacing>12.0</ColumnSpacing>
      <RowSpacing>12.0</RowSpacing>
    </PrintLabelEntry>

Done, it will be in the next version I make available.

I have made a new version of the calculator available, V5.0.0.1. It includes:

1. Options: If the preferred mixing method of grams is checked, the "Don't show grams" option will be automatically unchecked.

2. Options: If the preferred mixing method of drops is checked, the "Don't show drops" option will be automatically unchecked.

3. Add a new sheet definition for label printing called "DivBio CLTT-1000".

4. Added new backup options. See the "Tools-->Options", Backup options tab. In addition to backing up your juice file, you can now backup your Options file and your label definition files.

5. Added a new menu item on the main recipe window that will allow you to restore files, "File-->Restore from backups".

Thanks for the update HotRod.I'm going to download it shortly. I did want to let you know about a bug I encountered in V5.0.0.0. When you attempt to change the VG/PG percentages, they aren't incrementally changing, i.e. increases on the VG does not decrease the PG and vice versa. I noticed this when I was trying to adjust the ratio when I had it at an 80VG/20PG mix, and began decreasing the VG, the PG remained the same.

I am guessing that if you go to "Tools->Options" and look at the "General" tab that you have "Volume Calculation" checked. If that is the case, please look at post number 830 in this thread and it will provide the details of what that option does.

If you do not have it checked, please let me know.

I wanted to provide more information about the “Volume calculation” checkbox. With it checked, the PG and VG percentages will not automatically adjust so long as PG + VG is 100 or less. When “Volume calculation” is not checked, PG and VG percentages will automatically adjust and always total 100.

Most users want their calculator to lie to them and always tell them that their PG + VG = 100%. Most calculators will lie to the user and tell them PG + VG = 100%. If the calculator doesn’t lie, the calculator has a bug. The problem is that most of the calculators lie differently. I think that I should re-label the “Volume Calculation” to “Don’t lie to me”. The best way to explain the “Volume Calculation” is by example:

Plug this recipe into the various calculators:
Amount to make = 100ml
Nic = 0 mg
PG = 20%
VG = 80%
Water = 10% (any ingredient with no PG or VG)

Here is a sample of the results:

eJuice Me up:
15ml PG
75ml VG
10ml Water

....................:
18ml PG
72ml VG
10ml Water

JuiceCalculator (volume calculation unchecked):
18ml PG
72ml VG
10ml Water

JuiceCalculator (volume calculation checked and VG precedence checked):
10ml PG
80ml VG
10ml Water
Warning displayed: Unable to add enough PG for desired level
Shows you that your recipe is 10/80 PG/VG
To remove the warning change your recipe to PG = 10, VG = 80

JuiceCalculator (volume calculation checked and PG precedence checked):
20ml PG
70ml VG
10ml Water
Warning displayed: Unable to add enough VG for desired level
Shows you that your recipe is 20/70 PG/VG
To remove the warning change your recipe to PG = 20, VG = 70

LOVE your program. Thanks for creating it. Is there a way to paste text into the notes section by right clicking your mouse instead of cntl-v?

Thanks again!

You can already do that, I do it all the time. Just left click in the notes section, then right click and the 4th option (and only one not greyed out) is paste text only.

Works a treat!

My question is - is there anyway to export the ingredients listing to excel? I've searched and searched but can't find any option to export other than 'print'

You can in the recipe section but not in the ingredient section. That's the section I was referring too.

I just made version 5.0.0.2 available. It fixes the right-click issue in the notes section of the Ingredients window.

This message is displayed when I attempt to launch Excel and an exception occurs. For some reason the calculator is unable to launch Excel on your machine.

Download the version I just made available, 5.0.0.2. Hold down the "Ctrl" key when you click "Current recipe" or click "All recipes" when exporting. If the Control key is pressed during the export I will allow Windows to throw and exception and show you the detailed exception message. PM me a copy of the exception message so that I can try to determine why the calculator cannot launch Excel on your PC.

Stupid question I'm sure, but when I install this it won't overwrite anything I have already put in will it?

It always good practice to make a backup before updating any software. There is an option in the software data menu to backup your data, so I would just do that first.
