Where can I find the newest version of this calculator? I have a mac so will all the macros work in open office? Thank you
The links to download are below. There is an option to export information to Excel (Open office) and I am working on an option to create reports in Word (Open office) but I have a fix that I am working on for the Word option. It is currently trying to launch MS Word but that will change in the next version.

Hotrod, I hate to ask you to add a feature to a program that already has so many features. But, could you add to the Update Ingredient window,on the line which tells you how many recipes that ingredient is use in, and average percentage it's used at?

Thanks

Yes, I will try to get it in the next version.

Version 5.0.0.7 is available for download. The changes include:

1. Bug fix, in the "Create custom reports" feature. If MS Word wasn't installed the application was not properly launching the Open Office alternative.

2. In the manage ingredients window I added the average percentage that an ingredient is used in all recipes when displaying the total number of recipes that the ingredient is used in.

3. Added the ability to delete rows in the "Ingredient Editor" window.

4. There was an issue when using the "Ingredient Editor"; if you started to add a new row and then decided to "escape" out and cancel the add, the editor wasn't letting you exit the row. I resolved the issue in all of the conditions that I could create but I am still of the belief that I didn't catch all of the scenarios. Please let me know if you run into conditions where you cannot cancel out of adding a new row.

Check the version I just made available and let me know if that is what you were wanting.

When printing out inventory, could there be a way to pick between portrait or landscape, and also a way to select what columns from the ingredient editor you want to be a part of the inventory report? Thanks HotRod!

I haven't forgot about this, still trying to figure out how to approach it.

Yes Sir! Thank you So much for your time. I just went to options and made it available. Actually I was able to type in several and light up the New button but for some reason when I got to Hazelnut their was one already there, that was from someone else. So I wanted to add Hazelnut with Manufacture FW and that is where I got stuck. I am good now with changing the options route. Thank You Again!

Hello HotRod! I finely have all of my ingredients added and amounts. I have not input cost yet, but will later before I actually start using it. My question is When I was going through the inventory I have a lot of the same ingredient named several different ways from the same manufacture for different recipes , for instance
Caramel (FA)
Caramel (FA) (FA)
Caramel FA
Caramel - FA
Caramel FlavorArt
FA Caramel
amoung numerous other ways. I really want to clean this inventory up!
Is there a easy way to change them all to be Caramel (FA) and still be recongnised by the recipes or even automatically convert them to desired name? Thank you again HotRod for your hard work and Awesome speed at which you have implimented so many request.

I am not HotRod, but all you do is Edit > Find and replace ingredients
Put in the name of the ingredient you want to change in the first box and the name you want to change it to in the second. Check the box to "Delete Find Ingredient after replacing" the click the "Replace" button. You will see a list of recipes that were updated from the first name, to the second name.

Hey HotRod,

I tried to do some bulk editing of my ingredients but ran into two different problems. I'm on 5.0.0.4

I wanted to only edit a certain manufacturers ingredients but the Ingredient Editor (IE) did not allow me to sort on the Manufacturer column by clicking on the header row. There seems to be other columns that are not sortable but this was the important one for me.

Since I couldn't do it that way, I decided to copy over all ingredients to Excel, so I clicked on the box in the upper left corner of the IE to select all, then I copied this, and pasted into a new Excel Worksheet, so that I could sort, edit, and paste back just the modified ingredients.

The problem I ran into there is that when I tried to do a custom sort on the Manufacturer, I got a "The operation requires the merged cells to be identically sized" error. I found the reason for this and it's because there are 6 merged cells (rows) in the "Notes" field for an ingredient that I did add some notes to in the Ingredients Window. It looks like I entered two lines of comments and hit "enter" between the lines and then a few more "enters" at the end, something like this:

"Tried it at 10% and not bad

Try at 8% next time

"

So when this was copied and pasted into Excel, it created 6 cells within a single ingredient's row, causing that error to be thrown. I was also able to reproduce this when I copied just that one ingredient and pasted into Excel.

Not sure if your specific issue was resolved or not but 5.0.6 IIRC has been out for a handful of days now.
