Good morning Rod and happy Memorial Day.

Had a few ideas and was wondering what your thoughts are about them. If I missed any of this that is already an existing feature then I apologize in advance.

1. Is it possible to add a popup date/calendar picker (the little popup calendar widget type) when the Last made on field is clicked? This is not a big deal but it may be easy for you to do.

2. Would it be possible to add a “History” section in the Notes field in order to maintain an automatically populated list of the dates when a recipe was made? So basically every time the Last made on field is populated, and the recipe is saved, that date would be appended to that history section of the Notes field.

3. The big one. Is it possible to add an option check box to automatically populate the Last made on field whenever a recipe is printed? This would in turn also populate the History section of the Notes field as well. I was think of something like my screenshot below. I am guessing you were saving that space under the Last made on field for something :).

Thank you Rod.

1. I chose not to use the Windows "DateTimePicker" control for the "Last made on" field. This control requires that a date always be provided, you can't set it to an empty value. A date would be required for all recipes even if you never made the recipe.

2. I didn't add a section to the Notes field however I did make changes to track updates to the "Last made" date and I track the dates when the recipe is printed. This information can be displayed in the "View->Recipe history" window.

3. I add an option on the "Recipe Defaults" tab of the Tools->Options window. You can check a box indicating that you want the "Last made on" date updated whenever you print the recipe.

These changes will be available in the next version that I post.

HotRod,

My wife and I have just started doing DIY and were looking for a good calculator. From a developers view you have created an application that I believe has just about anything anyone could ask for. I am amazed the way you developed this. Whenever I need to do something, you have it covered. The true test will be this weekend when we use to create our first batch of peppermint patty. By the way, I would really like to contribute to this program. What is the best way to send you money?

Thanks

Gabe

In the program, if you click on Help at the top, you will see an entry labeled "Make a donation via PayPal".

Just loving using this software. Can hardly wait for my scale to arrive and make using it even better. I've spent a bit of time getting used to this program and trying out most of the features. My weak area seems to be using the simple calculators. I had a situation yesterday that I was kinda stumped on. Figured a way to do it but wondered if there was an easier way to do it. My wife had 100ml of juice that was 4mg in a 50/50 mix at 30% flavoring. She wanted to maintain the nic level. Make it a 70/30 mix and have 15% flavor.
I made a copy of the recipe then added an ingredient (flavor) that was 50/50 @ 4mg and set the other flavors in the recipe to 0%. Set the nic level to 4mg and pg/vg to 70/30. Worked great but if there is an easier way I wanna know cuz theres no way my wife can figure out what I did. Oh yah this post makes perfect sense to me hope it does to you.
I made 30ml of the new mix. It was made considerably easier due to the flavor dropping by 50%. I can see her coming back and saying mix me some more but change the flavor percent.

Thanks. Can anyone tell me if the 20 drops per ml is a good place to start for the ingredients or is to wise to measure each liquids drop count. Thanks again.

If you are going to mix by drops, you need to measure each liquids drop count, using the exact dropper you will always use for that liquid. I really recommend you use syringes over droppers. Why? As dropper bulbs begin to wear their volume count will change per drop.

So I'm a bit confused... I was interested in trying this calc, so I downloaded the Dropbox app thing, but the google link led me to a "404 error" page, so I wasn't able to do anything there. Anyways, downloaded Dropbox, and opened all the files, but non of them were calculators? Just examples of the calc being used, and a bunch of hodge podge like binary writing/programming codes... HELP PLZ

I always use the Google selection. A page opens and will show several files. Select the zip file, download, and then install. It goes very easily. Good luck.

Is it possible to make so that a nicotine dilution is added to an existing ingredient?

All my nic is 100mg/mL and i have various "working" dilutions that I work with. So let's say my most frequently used is "Nic 24mg HV" and I have 10ml of that left. I take a bottle of 100mg, dilute 28ml so it is 24mg 50/50 and now I want to add that to inventory. I can't just add that to my existing "ingredient" so it will add that resulting 113ml to the existing 10ml. I have to create a "new" ingredient to save as, so it will also subtract the nic/pg/vg from inventory

I think the question about which virus program was to determine which one was reporting the problem. I have McAfee and I've run Malwarebytes and had no problem with the file.

Well thats good news, I went ahead and tryed out the program. It's really nice! It has everything! Im just not 100% sure about one thing.

I ordered some DIY stuff, and I got 120ml of Nicotine in 12mg/ml. I added some flavors, Im pretty sure i got everything set up. But it says for a 30ml bottle of juice will require 15ml of Nic solution!
Does that sound right for a 70/30 vg/pg with 6mg nic??
