I bout preventing duplicates

Has there been an update for preventing duplicates from being added to the shopping list? And being able to sort/filter columns in the shopping list? I asked this in a post a while back, but not sure if it was answered. Might have been overlooked using my phone. I'd download the update and check myself, but the desktop is curerently OOO.
Sorry, I let this fall thru the cracks. I will work on it for the next version.

Thanks for the last fix regarding the print preview error.

Regarding printing ingredients: When printing to PDF, is it possible to choose what columns are printed and or the orientation of the page? I seem to have a column cut off after the "Cost/ML" column. I have tried to change the layout to landscape via the PDF printer settings but that doesn't seem to stick. This may be related to my running the calc via Parallels on a Mac.

My workaround is to copy & paste into Excel from the ingredient mgr and print from Excel.

I am somewhat familiar with Mail Merge but I just cannot seem to get custom reports to work. When I select File> Generate Custom Reports> Selected Recipe or All Recipes or All Ingredients and then one of the templates, nothing happens. No report is generated. Am I "doing it wrong" and if so, can someone point me in the right direction, please?

Great piece of software! Quick question since I couldn't find the answer by searching. Is there a way to import an ingredient list from an excel or csv file?

I too have searched for this but it seems the only way is you are supposed to be able to paste from Excel into the ingredient editor. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get this to work....

I'm getting an "Attempted to divide by zero" error when trying the "Print All Recipes" option. At first I saw it while trying to print to PDF using BullZip but it also happens when going straight to my printer. I doubt I'll ever use this feature but in an attempt to aid in development I thought I'd report it.

Another bug I've seen is while trying to to print my inventory. Random blank lines are inserted into the printout and the format is only 50% of the page width and left justified.

Using ver 6.0.3.4

I have something strange going. I use "Tapatalk" on my phone to browse this forum and IE or Chrome to browse on my PC. I can see that you attached a screenshot in Tapatalk but I am unable to view it. In IE and Chrome I can't see that you have attached anything. Strange.
Can you Email or PM me a screenshot of the message your are seeing. Also, I am able to "Print all Recipes" without any issue so I am guessing that something in your juice file is triggering the message you are seeing. Would you email me a copy of a juice file that this is happening on so that I can figure out what is going on.

Do you have Word or another application installed that is able to open and .docx files? Also, when the document is created the calculator will launch the file (such as "RecipesTemplate.docx"). In order for the document to launch your Windows installation needs to have the file association setup. Make sure that you can use windows explorer and double click a file with a .docx extension and see if it launches the application and displays the document.

You're not having issues, I didn't include a screen shot...

You're right, it is an issue with my file. I opened up a fresh, un-modified version of the recipe starter kit and had no issues printing all (to BullZip). I also tried printing (again to BullZip) the inventory and the blank/empty line issues seemed better. There were still 2 or 3 items that generated blank lines in the inventory but not as severe as with my juice file.

I opened my juice file with an editor (DreamWeaver CS3) and the only thing I can see is possibly an issue with the "Notes" fields. Anytime there are notes, there is a closing line break before the closing "Notes" tag and that tag isn't indented. That only happens randomly in the notes field, some have that line break, some don't.

If you can email me your file I will look at it and modify the program to prevent the exception.

Not sure if mentioned, but when importing recipes and there is a problem you get the "File not in expected format" message box on every single file. If you are importing a lot of recipes this can be a pain to hit "OK" for every one. May want to put a custom Yess/No message box that asks if you want same action for similar errors.
Thanks... Great Program BTW!

What version are you running and what type of file are you importing?

I found the issue. It will be resolved in V6.0.3.5.

I just made version 6.0.3.5 available. The changes include:

1. An exception was being thrown when "Printing all recipes". Fixed.

2. Added logic to prevent duplicate items from being added to the shopping list. Note that this update does not include the ability to sort the shopping list. I hope to add this in a future version.

3. While importing recipes a message was being displayed stating that the file was in an unexpected format. Fixed.

4. Added the ability to import recipes from Excel. I hope to add a change in a future version to support importing from CSV files. Note that the import requires the Excel workbook to be in a specific format. Column headings must have a name recognized by the application.
There are two menu items available. "Tools->Import from Excel->Create template spreadsheet" which will create an empty workbook that has column headings with the expected values and "Tools->Import from Excel->Do the import" which will import a workbook that is in the format provided by the "Create template spreadsheet" option.
When importing if the ingredient+manufacturer matches an existing ingredient, the existing ingredient will be updated with the new values. Otherwise a new ingredient will be added with the provided information.

This is the bext calculator out there. I recently started making bigger batch and I switched to measuring weight instead of volume.

I had this install on a PC that crashed on me so i got my current one working. The only issue is that on my previous install,
somewow it Had all the recipes and flavors listed but this newest install doesnt have any at all, How would i go about updating the list
and recipe on this calc. I know it's possible, but i dont know how the program had alll those recipes and flavors instaled

EDIT:
I put in all the recipes and amount, it's not showing me the weight how would i enable it

All recipes and ingredients are stored in a single file named xxxxxx.XML (you provided the xxxxxx). From your previous installed you should have an xxxxxx.XML file. By default the file in stored in your "My Documents\EJuiceCalculator\" directory. If a new install is starting without showing you your previous recipes and ingredients you should do the "File->Open" and navigate to your previous file and open it.

To show the weight for your recipes and ingredients you have to set an option. Go to "Tools->Options" and on the "General" tab select the "Preferred mixing method" of "Grams". On the "Recipe defaults" tab make sure that "Don't show grams" is unchecked.
