New Canuck here

Hi all,

I just signed up. I quit smoking for about 4 years and recently started again due to being around so many smokers, thought I'd give ecigs a try. Haven't bought one yet, I'm still going through the newbie posts and learning about them. Apparently the nicotine kind are banned in Canada, which I find very disappointing, but I figure I'll try nonetheless.

I'm going to continue looking through the intro posts, and talk to a few people I know who use them before I purchase. Need to get my 5 posts before I can join the Canadians forum

Welcome Jim from another Canuck. I am so sorry to hear that you started smoking again after 4 years. Sadly your story is one of the "many" reasons that I just would not think about quitting - so I smoked for 46 years.

Now for the good news - I thought I would try ecigs - just to see if it would help me cut down on the 30 or more a day I was smoking. Much to my surprise - I have not had a cigarette since I got my eGo Twists and some higher nic juice on Nov 22.

The help and support here on ECF has been great and definitely has helped me - not only with finding the right equipment, but especially for the support that this will work - even for someone like myself that loved smoking and had no intention of quitting.

Hi! Whereabouts is Oakville? I'm American, but I spent my childhood in Newfoundland. Naval Base Argentia and St. John's.

Oakville is just outside of Toronto. I'm hoping one day to move around Canada, as my only experience with the place is the greater toronto area. Always wanted to visit the maritimes!

It is really confusing at first but just delve in and see how it goes. I hope you can find some supplies... I thought Canada was cooler than the US about banning stuff!?!

Welcome to the forum and hopefully a new page in your life, which is tobacco free. Feel free to ask many questions around here, because getting into vaping can (and IS) be confusing to newbies because their is a ton of options to consider, some not exactly newb friendly!

Get as much info as you can before you buy, and then say goodbye to cigarettes!

Keep an eye out for vape meets as well. Nothing like learning from the veterans and in person.

Oh cool. I've never been to any part of Canada outside of the maritimes.

Man, I'm amazed Canada (the maritimes at least) hasn't jumped on the e-cig thing...Every single person I can remember in Newfoundland smoked SOMETHING, lol.
