New clearos still corrode with certain juices. :(

I filled two new clearos with floral juices from deejstuff and it made them all icky inside. Here's a pic of all four clearos. Guess which ones had the floral juices:

Even worse, here are the mouthpieces:

I thought these were supposed to be able to handle juices that the old ones couldn't.

Do your clearos have multiple wicks? Looks like lots of braids inside that gray one.

Yeah, they have multiple wicks. I'm probably going to toss those two. Does anyone know if anything melts the ce3s? Also, how do the ce3s look on an x2?

Actually, it is merely a chemical reaction between a particular specific kind of plastic (polycarbonate, usually) and certain substances added to flavor recipes in our eliquids.

I choose to not blame the juice manufacturers. In their defense, their juices recipes have often been around longer than the devices that we vapors have recently begun putting them in. Changing ingredients can drastically affect a juice negatively, so they do not consider that an option.

Why can't manufacturers come up with materials that can hold up to these juices? There are known materials that are considered safe, use them.

If you drink cola or carbonated drinks, do you know that you can use that to remove stains on your sink or tub?

Deejstuff honeysuckle and cherry blossom to be exact. The cherry blossom actually did more damage to the purple clearo than the honeysuckle did to the clear. :/

I'm a big fan of clearos, but tend to stick to tobacco flavors and have never had a problem. Just a guess, but maybe the citric acid content is just too high for plastics.

I believe you missed my point.

Just because there is a chemical reaction between two specific substances does not mean it will do the same to human tissue. Acetone (nail polish remover) can change the composition of the nail polish, but it doesn't harm human tissue.

** If someone is able to manufacture a pyrex tube the shape of a clearo, or even a CE2, consistantly, it would be a major breakthrough for this line of product. The tube would be reusable. The innards would be disposable, removable and rebuildable to offset the higher cost of manufacturing these.

Maybe the specific chemical doing the damage to the plastic won't be harmful to a human, but what about the byproducts of the reaction? There's bound to be some form of plastic component, aka hydrocarbons that might not be very desirable.

I would guess that you'd have better luck with the CE3s...different plastic, like they use for syringes. Probably polyethylene, which is generally pretty chemical resistant. If that doesn't work, then I would probably have to agree with Bad that glass/pyrex would be the only other viable option, if you can find ones that you like...

These are the new ones they are still having an issue with. But yeah, there are other more expensive options (like Cindy points out) that would be safe for the floral juices. Maybe invest in one of those just for the troublesome juices and use the CE3 for the others.
