I recently bought a new coil for my wife's Pike eVaper and works well but the problem is it seems that the coil is heating up the liquid to much that the only flavor wheir getting is a burnt like taste no matter the flavor and if you hit it more than once its harsh on the throat does it just need to be broken in or is it a bad coil?

Yes its a bottom coil it screws into the bottom of tank then into battery

If you are getting a burnt taste (we call those "dry hits"), if usually means your wick cannot pull the eliquid fast enough to keep up with your battery. There are a couple of things you can do:

1. Dial down your voltage. This will vaporize the eliquid at a slower rate (if your battery allows you to do this).
2. Decrease the airflow, if your tank has adjustable airflow. The decrease in airflow will increase vacuum inside the tank's atomizer, which should increase the flow of juice to the wick.
3. Take a sharp draw (or two) on your drip tip (without engaging your battery). This will pull more eliquid into the coil so that it will be available when you press the battery button and take a draw.

You will get the feel of this over time and develop a sense of how often you will need to do this to avoid "dry hits". The PG/VG ratio of your eliquid also comes into play, as VG is thicker than PG . If you use high VG try adding a few drops of distilled water to your tank to thin out the eliquid. You could also install a higher ohm coil.

Never heard of a Pike Evaper and a Google search doesn't come up with anything either. Did you prime the coil when you replaced it? Got a pic of that rig?

We have only been vaping for a couple of months so wasn't sure that you had to prime a coil because ours worked right of the box I to googled our e vapes and didn't see ours but PIKE also makes e liquid here is our e vapors

Thanks for that info it helped while its not 100% its better we don't have any way to add just but what I did do was the thread cover has 3 holes so I covered them with my hand and sucked with the silicone cap off and it helped and with each prime it keeps getting better so is that what you have to do with every new coil and is that what you mean by priming the coil?

When you install a new coil, try this...

Install coil.

Sit it down upright with just the coil screwed into the base (no tank attached)

Drip 2 to 3 drops right into the top hole of the coil (wait until each drop is absorbed before dripping another)

Now assemble and fill your tank.

Wait 5 or ten minutes...

Fire it up and enjoy!

Should cure what ails ya!
