About 6-8 months ago I bought my new vape I have a Reuleaux RX 2/3 and I was using the baby beast until the TFV12 came out. At the beginning I would get great flavor from the TFV12 no matter what coil but these past 3-5 months every coil I bought would not give me any flavor or it would give me a cotton flavor, 2 Weeks ago I bought the RTA TFV12 hopping that would fix the flavor problem. I built the Triple rba by myself and I would get a cotton flavor, I let it stay for a couple days hoping it was the cotton that needs to break in but it didn't go away no matter what juice I used, so I took it to my local vape shop to have an experienced person rebuild it for me because I thought I messed up, but I'm still getting either a cotton flavor or no flavor at all and I can't taste the nic on my juice, idk what's wrong could it be my mod?

I noticed with my TFV12 that the only coils that gave me flavor is the X4, Q4, and the dual built RBA. But also the liquid I use, Liquid Nitrogen, is a 50/50 mix and the most extreme mint(no menthol) that I have had made.
The TFV12 is "airy" compared to the TFV8. It could be that or maybe your mix is high in VG. Hth

I get a break in with a few cheap cottons can taste off for 1-4ml. Better cotton it goes away after 5-10 puffs. Could be alot of things, got used to the flavours and developed vapers tongue (like chewing gum), vendor using less flavour to save money or their supplies are getting old, maybe it needs to steep a week or more, maybe its over steeped or left in the sunlight on a shelf etc.

If you using cotton pads remove the top and bottom layer (anything that got on it would be there) and the inner part is fluffy, cut off what you need and roll it up in the palms of your hands. Prime the cotton and burn off the juice, repeat a few times. That should break in the coil or give you a head start anyways. Are you dry buring the wire before using it too? Machine oil will ruin a tank full of juice.

This isn't going to help you, but it sounds to me like you and the tank don't get along. You don't say what wattage you like to vape at, but unless you are routinely over 100 watts, remember the '12 is built as a cloud tank and not for flavor. There are any number of good tanks out there-- I only use RTAs so that's all I know about-- with really good flavor that will take 100ish watts with no problem. For example, I just reviewed the Serpent SMM for the board, and can recommend it as a flavor master. I don't normally vape that high, but I had it to 125 watts with no dry hits for a test. You may want to look at another tank, something with single or dual coils, if flavor is your priority.

He said it was fine before. As for the SMM surprised you didn't mention that it sounds like a jet engine taking off. One of the loudest tanks I've heard other then ones the whistle. As far as flavour thats more what you put in it then the tank. Great tank but you need big 3mm fused claptons or larger in it.

I just changed my coil on my x8 and now I'm not getting any flavor. The past one I used had a really great juicy flavor, the very first coil I used like the one I have now had hardly any flavor at all. I googled it and I keep seeing issues with the TFV8 not having any flavor. So is this must be a common issue with these coils/tank. I don't think it's vapors tounge. The last coil I had in had very strong flavor but I but a very bad tasting juice in so changed it out, and now I'm back to taste.

If you can taste flavor in other tanks, or taste some flavors, I'd agree that it's probably not vaper's tongue. As far as your tank, I don't have one, so I really don't have much to offer. However, it does appear that something must have changed with your tank. Could it be possible that you got a run of bad coils, that does sometimes occur? I'd say with the RBA deck, I'm not really optimistic that using it will solve your flavor "woes" as typically drop in coil tanks are generally not set up to vape with a build deck. They're often small, fiddly, and also the tank isn't really "designed" to vape that way.

If new coils bring you no joy, I guess I might recommend a Crown Uwell tank (either the original or the three) they get great reviews for both flavor and coil longevity and they offer a variety of different resistance coils, etc. Many folks swear by them.

Best of luck and I hope you get it figured out. :)
