Hello all,

I've lurked on ECF since probably September, when I first quit smoking and began vaping. I started with ego-C and have since upgraded to an Innokin SVD. Having become partial to the Innokin brand as a result, I decided to get a Cool Fire II. And that brings me to the issue that prompted me to create my account and begin posting (though I've been meaning to create an account for quite some time, so I guess there is a silver lining in everything?).

Anyway, I just received my Cool Fire II from Hoosier E-Cigs, and it won't fire. The battery (an Efest 18350 button top, which was a tight fit, but a fit nonetheless) is making a connection; i.e., the firing button lights green when I press it, and you can hear it when you press the button (not really sure how to describe this sound, but I think it's pretty common in mods- sounds like the battery is vibrating). However, I have tried three tanks (a Smoktech UDCT, iClear30S, iClear30X) and an ego carty, and none of them work.

At first, I suspected the Smoktech tank may not be making a physical connection, as the connector is very short, but this can't be the case with the iClears, as the connectors are more than long enough.

My brother (also a vaper, though we are both still novices) thinks that an internal wire is not making a connection, as that is the only thing that would prevent a connection with the atomizer if the mod was successfully drawing from the battery.

I haven't seen this issue documented anywhere...any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the vid- I wanted to try that but wasn't sure how. Unfortunately, it didn't work- I tried raising in varying amounts with no success, until finally I raised it probably 50-75% higher than its default position, and it still won't work. This was so high that inserting any tank/carto dramatically pushed it back down, so it's definitely making the connection with the pin.

I appreciate the help man. I don't have any flat top 350's on hand to try, but it seems like at this point any fixing would require opening up the unit (could be wrong on that though), which I don't have the know-how to mess with. I opened a ticket on the vendor's site asking for a refund if I send back due to DOA - if they agree, I'm just going to order a new one (along with a flat top 350 lol).

Thanks again

Ugh...first time I've ever gotten a DOA item on anything I've ordered. Horrible feeling, haha. I was sitting at my desk at work all day today thinking about coming home and firing it up. NOPE
