Hey everyone, I'm new here. This is my first time trying the DIY e juice! Very excited to make my own flavors and save some money.

I received my order for 120ML of 100MG PG based nicotine from vaperstek today, and just got done diluting it. I wanted to get some advice and make sure I did it right.

First, I took 60ML of the nic and then 60ML of VG. From my understanding this made 120ML of 50/50 PG/VG , and 50MG (or 50%) nic. Shook it up and stuck it in the freezer.

Then I did the same exact steps to get another 60ML of 50/50, 50mg and went in the freezer.

Next, I took 30ML of nic, added 60ML of VG and 30ML of PG. This made 120ML of 50/50 , and 25MG (25%) nic. Is this correct?

I don't wanna get these numbers mixed up or somehow done incorrectly so I wanted some reassurance.

Thanks guys

Your math is correct. You NEED to use a juice calculator from here on out to be safe. Here are 2 I have used :

Thank you for such a quick and helpful response! Couldn't have asked for any better. I'm preparing now to make my first mix.

Thanks for the welcomes :)

Correct, but I keep some of my nic at full strength in case there is something that needs more nic but otherwise I want to change a little as possible. I do dilute my normal use to 33 mg because I think I can feel it just breathing around that open 100 mg bottle, good call on diluting some, but I store the rest undiluted in the freezer. You must have a lot more PG and VG.

100 mg nic is easy, use x % and you get x mg/ml. I just do the mixes in my head or on paper, but I'd say if you are questioning your math, yeah should use one of those juice calculator programs... although I can understand wanting to be more careful with the nic.

    Last question!
I currently use a nautilus mini and a subtank mini. Is there an easy to use taste tester tank? Would be a hassle with my tanks, and wouldn't get full flavor unless I changed the coils every time. Can't afford that. I saw somebody on youtube that literally took the mouthpiece off, put a couple drops down the hole, mouthpiece back on, and vaped. Looking for something similar that is relatively cheap and easy to use/maintain.
    Thanks again!
Btw I just made my first DIY juice using a calculator. Mixed 3 juices. Going for blueberry cream. We'll see how it turns out. :D

Without getting into a rebuildable atomizer, you could give a 510 bridgeless atomizer a try. Depending on what you get, you'll only be about $4 - $8 or so out of pocket. Maintenance is easy, and they will last a LONG time. I have a handful that I used to use for flavor testing, and haven't had a single one fail.
Keep in mind that they CANNOT handle the kind of power a lot of people are using these days, I would suggest that you keep it in the neighborhood of 6-9 watts.

    Best of luck!

I just ordered a couple KP long barrel sealed atomizers because they seem to have good reviews all over the place. Hopefully they do me well.
I made a DIY juice last night using one of the calculators you guys mentioned. I mixed it for 6mg nic but wow, throat hit! Then I started thinking... I never shook up the 100mg nicotine base before I started mixing. Did I screw up the FIRST step?
I don't know if I should now mix everything in one big bottle :(

Honestly, I don't know, because I've never looked into whether or not the nicotine separates from the base liquid while in storage; I have always shaken the poop out of my nic before use. (Actually, I put the bottle on the floor and roll it back and forth with my foot while watching TV.)
One thing you can look into for future reference is an e-liquid test kit. They're not too expensive (most are under $20) and there's enough materials provided for several tests.

    I understood your mathology (lol)
I thought i was the only one who "maths" like that lol.

How i do mine is much more how to say detailed and very long winded confusing way. I made my own chart. You should too, it helps. I couldnt understand the online juice calculators. They play percentages too much. I calculate using mg/ml and go from there. I dont think i qualify here to give u specific answers on how to do this lol but hey, i just wanna shout out that i am not the only one wh o maths like this haha!

    Welcome aboard the cloud train!

You may have, but don't feel bad. I did the same thing when I started to DIY. Once I got my test kit and tested the small bottle I was thinking was 100mg /ml, it turned out that it was actually something like 720mg /ml.

It was then I saw the warning on the label of the big bottle that said "Shake well before using"

Be careful! I always test a newly decanted bottle of nic these days, and even shake that before a mixing session.
