Alright. I have the basic conception of Ohm's law and stuff.

My first coil I built was .8 ohms running on 4.2volts..... PROBABLY NOT THE BEST IDEA TO BEGIN HUH!?

So I did the second one and doubled it, and got a 1.6 ohm coil..... It wouldnt heat up for about 5 seconds.

So I tried for number 3 and got a 1.0 ohm coil. It's working good on the full charge 4.2v

My battery is 35A discharge, EFEST IMR 18650 3.7v LI-MN 2500 MaH.

As far as I can tell, I'm safe using this battery with the discharge and the Ohms, Volts, and Watts im pushing through my k100 right?????????

This is my 2nd day dripping.

Yeah I read its actually a 20A, but for some reason they say its a 35a..... Thats why I asked if I stay at 17.64 watts I should be safe right?

Ive read so many horror stories about people running Subohms and blowing up batteries or people saying they run a .4 ohm and they respond with "Are you trying to blow yourself up"?

Because the guy at the shop I buy stuff at told me I should try to build a .4 ohm coil...... But the .8 was nice for me.

quinngia...... Ive only been vaping for a month....... And all I heard was "Dripping is vaping with passion" and how much better tasting dripping was.... Im not gonna lie, I think its awesome. Mostly because I like the fact that you feel accomplished after you build your own coil, wick it, mount it in your deck, juice it up, check the voltage/meters, and fire that sumbeach up....and it makes a fog.... Its awesome.

Yes, you are safe.

The question you need to be asking yourself (with regards to safety) is how many amps does my build pull and can my battery support this. When looking at amps, look at CDR (continuous draw rating) NOT pulse.

Here is some information about your Efest batteries. The are not 35A continuous (as printed on the wrapper) but are 20A. This link is from Baditude (our resident battery/safety expert): Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised

Here are some links that may help you. I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding battery safety, Ohm's Law & amp draw are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

COILING CALCULATOR

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:
1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator

Make sure to check your build with an ohm reader or DMM before putting it on your mod and firing it.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
