I just received my 901 last night. So, brand new, and I just don't think I'm getting much vapor. Charged the battery, put in a new cartridge, and after a few puffs, there is barely anything.

Am I doing something wrong? If anyone can refer me to posts I can print out for newbies, please do. By the way, I did not order any juice because I'm not sure if I'm going to like this. But, if you can refer to me videos about injecting juice (not sure I like the dripping idea) I would appreciate it. I don't have the internet at home so I'm trying to print stuff out from work so I can read while at home.

From my experience with the 901, there is a breaking in period with the atomizers. I would say about a day of vaping. And you just will not get as much satisfaction unless you use liguid to refill the carts and top off the carts. I get mine from puresmoker (riskee, my favorate, 24 mg) but others like Johnson Creek and Totally Wicked. Occassionally I will hold my finger over the atomizer hole for a second while drawing in and then remove my finger and continue to draw in. This heats up the atomizer which provides a better hit and a little more vapor. Others will tell you that this might wear out the atomizer more quickly but IMO it is no different that using a manual switch which many do. Dripping a drop of glycern and a drop of liguid on the atomizer does moisten the atomizer and provides more vapor for a short while. You basically want to keep the fabric in the cart moist or you will get nothing.

I went through the same thing with my e-cig.

What was the problem? I was trying to smoke it like a cigarette. With an e-cig you're going to want to give it a long, slow draw, like a milkshake or a cigar. Also, it seems that to me and a few others that an atomizer can take a couple of days to wear in right; maybe it has something to do with the primer liquid that they put on the atomizer in the factory.

Thanks for the replies. Just went outside to take a few puffs, and even though it lights up, I am getting nothing now EXCEPT for a terrible taste in my mouth. YUCK

Does this mean my battery is dead, need a new cart already (just got this going last night about 7:00, have barely used it)? No flickering or anything, still lights up, just no vapor.

Nope, it's not hot. BTW, just put in a new cart this morning at 7:00. These don't last long at all - I'm HARDLY vaping. Just a few puffs on the thing last night and I had to put in a new cart this morning. Couple of puffs before I left the house and just 2 puffs on it before I came into my office.

I have to order new carts right now. Anyone have any suggestions about carts and juice? Good deals, favs, anything?

The 901 carts require constant 'top-offs' and the Dura carts on the 901 hold more liquid but you have to push the filler material further towards the tip to prevent burning it on the atomizer wick, so by condensing the filler material I don't know that the Dura carts from Janty actually end up storing more liquid.

The best trick for 901s, or any-other model for that matter, I have found is to just carry some juice with you and top it off regularly. My favorite juice right now is Non PG from Johnson Creek. I also cut the juice with vegetable glycerine which in turn stretches how long the juice lasts me and produces a metric .... ton of vapor. Which I like. The problem with cutting the juice with vegetable glycerine is you dilute the nicotine, which I also like, so I just order higher strength then I would normally use. What I do now is order the 18mg juice from Johnson Creek and cut it 3/4 JC juice to 1/4 VG which seems to do the trick for me. I was a pack to pack and a half a day smoker so it seems to be satisfying that level of need for me.

Hope this helps, I have been in the same spot of utter disappointment but push through it and make use of the plethora of info on this site. These guys (and gals) are great and there is a wealth of information, several members have some good intro to esmoking vids on youtube so check those out as well.

I can relate to the fried brain syndrome..

I have found Vegetable glycerine at Hobby Lobby, Ashers (Kitchen supply store), Target & Wal-Mart (Evil Empire). You shouldn't have to pay more than $3.00 for a 2-3 oz bottle.

Also, what everyone said about the atomizer having a break-in period was absolutely true in my case as well, and I have found the 901s from TW to be some of the best out there.

i have 3 901`s, and only ever buy empty carts these days, I fill them with ejuice (mainly coconut from totallywicked) - currently on 8mg, 2-3 drops each time, which lasts me about 2-3 "smokes". each cart lasts around 3-4 days then i use another. I guess this way im spending about £25-£30 per month on my ecig habit. This is far better than my £150/month analog habit. i`ve put on 6 pounds, but holding it there, and overall feel MUCH better for it.

I only got my 901 on Monday at 6:00 pm. I've used 3 carts already, and believe me, I have BARELY used them. Just about 3 or 4 puffs then I put it away for a few hours. They are not lasting anywhere near "7-15 cigs " as I've read. And I hardly get any vapor. I've emailed TW and haven't received a response yet. I don't have any liquid yet, just ordered some today.

How is that coconut liquid? I'm going to shop around and see what the favorites seem to be before I spend anymore.

How are you putting them away? If you don't store the atomizer (with attached cartridge) mouthpiece-end-up-battery-end-down, the juice doesn't flow downward towards the atomizer to keep it moist.

Since you don't have juice yet and factory primer these days seems crap, use one cart just for its juice. You can mash the filter down into the cart with a tweezer end and you'll see it free up juice. You can also use a tweezer to pull out the filter material and drip a couple drops into the atomizer that way. Atomizers have a sweet spot, a break in point, where they become moist enough to work well.
