Hey all. I just got my first setup. It is a 402 with two atomizers, three batteries, 10 pre-filled cartridges. I also have 3 various 10ml bottles of menthol (I may be equally addicted to menthol as I am nicotine!). I have went into charge mode to make sure all the bats get a good solid charge. I have started to vape using the setup and everything is working great. My question is, what additional supplies should I think about getting in the short term? Today since I got the system running, I have had one analog instead of the normal 5 I would have had (in the last five hours). Surprisingly easy thus far. The analog tasted like crap, even though I just started vaping a few hours ago. That shocked the hell out of me. The last thing I want to happen, as I work out the glitches, is to wake up to find out I am unexpectantly SOL because something broke and pushed back into the arms of my analog nicotine fix.

Somebody familiar with the 402 will surely come in here and help you with that. But for now....I had to laugh. Yes, you'll be desperate if your e-cig breaks and you're forced to smoke a nasty analog. haha

Okay, that's not funny. But alas, with some time and learning here, you'll end up with the perfect device and be loving it. Be patient, it just takes time when you have to order everything online. But it'll happen for you, just as it did with all the rest of us.

Congratulations on your great decision to Vape instead of Smoke! :D

No experience with your model, but spare atomizers are a must with any PV, grab a 5 pack if you can, then grab some more when money allows it. They really are the weakest link with these devices. Another few batteries wouldn't hurt either. :)

As for juice, you should expect to get around two weeks out of the 30ml you have, once you've confirmed that you like what you have, get some more (and try a few other flavours while you are at it), vaping seems to lose it's flavour as you get further into the day, it's nice to have another flavour or two to rotate. :p

Consider grabing a "USB passthrough" for when you are at home/at a computer as well, it saves wear and tear on your batteries.

Good luck with packing in the smokes. :thumb:

Your mom said not to say...
With the 3pc models spare atomizers is a must! You don't want to be 3 or 4 weeks into your quitting cycle and have a friggin atomizer die on you. You said you bought some juice so your cool there. The carts on the M4xx models are kind of on the small side or I would say get some Fluval from the pet store or something for replacing the filler once it has been cleaned a few times it tends to fall to crap over time.
The M4xx model isn't a bad choice at all really. I used a Dragon from Truesmoker as my first E-cig and I was able to quit using it. It is still one of my favorites for the taste and nice hit that it gives. You just want to remember to order your juice earlier at least 4 days before you run out, it's a good practice to have spare batteries if you intend to drip into a auto battery (not recommended) it works but can trash your battery if liquid gets inside it. The batteries last for hundreds of charges so it's not something you should need right away. Good luck.

Day one went pretty well. I will be ordering at least a few more atomizers this weekend, as well as the USB passthrough. No pcc option that I see, that may be when I make the next model upgrade :D I am pretty surprised, but definitely seeing the merit in having some varying flavors. I thought for sure I would want something as close to my analogs as possible, but now I am seeing the sky is the limit. Tutti Frutti nicotine? Maybe, just maybe!

Snarkyone, I definitely see the point on the filler. I ordered a few pre-filled carts but they came in Marlboro flavored regular. I was a dedicated menthol smoker and hated smoking regular analogs when I had to, so I have already went to emptying the pre-filled and loading them myself. I was pretty surprised that I was getting these big smoke hits but when I pulled out the filler that it was so 'skimpy'. I'll keep my eye out for the Fluval.

Hey there chickenbeaner

If you haven't found it yet there is a sub-forum specific to your 402
M-401/402 "Mini" & M403 Super Mini - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

I'm thinking of trying this model atomizer myself. Lotta of folks swear by them...

Enjoy the tutti-frutti if you come across any :)

My first PV is a 401. Had it about 2.5 weeks now and really happy with it. I've got 8 different flavors I've been going nuts trying. Love the coffee and blackberry so far :) Anyway. As for a PCC Shawn at Litecig has announced in his vendor specific forum that there is a PCC in the making for the 401. It was supposed to be out soon but no real news on when yet. I'm itching to get it. Check out the thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/litecig/29525-shhhhh-something-new-coming-2.html Pics at the bottom of the page. It's going to have a little meter letting you know how much juice the PCC has left! Too cool  . Anyway, other than that sounds like you're on the right track with what everyone else has said, passthrough and a couple extra attys and you sound pretty set! Happy vaping!

I'd also recommend trying a cart mod. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-foam-plug-updated-v2-0-slug-search-over.html I'm running one just like this in my 401. Cut the foam Just a little bigger, 1mm maybe so you have to squish it in there. took a couple tries. But now I can get 10 drops in and it sucks that damn foam dry! I mean when I squeeze it on a paper towel after, there's not enough juice to even make a wet spot. Doesn't leak and has just been great to me, way easier to refill than the polyfil that's in there by default.

Thanks all, definitely going to end up with PCC eventually. I am mostly working at home on the computer right now so I am not in a huge hurry. Good to know it is out there when I need it. Zorba, I am certainly going to try the mod - I thought it seemed a little underpacked in there. I just wasn't sure if that was some intentionally engineered feature :D olderthandirt, it's funny I haven't even thought to get to my specific model forum yet. I am so stoked about quitting analogs, I have been surfing the quitting forums. I will definitely check it out. Thanks all, great information.

SO MUCH information buried around this place. Took me entirely way too long to realize that sub-forums even existed. I kept looking at "Today's Posts" only for the longest time!
Of course I am a bit on the slow side...

I was exactly the same, as an ex-roll up smoker, I simply assumed that I would only use tobacco flavours, that quickly changed when I tried a few others...I think this is a common story for new vapers. :)

Glad you are enjoying your vaping. :thumb:

Here are my suggestions.
If you like menthol, Totally Wicked I understand sells a good real menthol juice. There is also a do it yourself forum on making your own eLiquid, and there is a good recipe in there on making a Menthol flavoring from pure Menthol crystals - it is a very inexpensive way to go. I make my own, and think it is great. Then you can have control over the strength of the Menthol to tobacco flavor, or just vape a pure menthol flavored eLiquid if you would like - it is very refreshing. Give quite a nose hit, too.
The atomizers are the weak link, as stated, you do need spares. And you will periodically need to keep buying more.
If you need automatic batteries as a beginner, get some, but expect them to wear out almost as fast as the atomizers. Make sure you get at least a few manual batteries- they are sealed and generally last longer. Also get a "passthru" - it looks like a battery and works like a battery, but it's not one- it connects to a PC USB port, and you vape directly from that power source.
I would also get a spare charger- if your charger goes out, it doesn't matter how many batteries you have.
And I agree about cart mods, they improve the experience dramatically at very little additional cost. Look into the straw mod, blue foam mod, Pyramid Tea Bag (PTB) mod, fluval mod, spring mod, and many others on this site; experiment and find out what works for you. And try reading about dripping or dipping (not sure which the 401 is better suited to) You may decide you like doing that better than using carts, at least sometimes.
