Hey guys, im new to vaping so i applogise for my terminology. i bought a vape earlier today. Im not sure on the specs of it, but i believe it is around 120watts when fully charged. Its coil is one of the ones with cotton in that i soaked with the juice before using. I charged it for a while and had a few drags on it and it was fine, but then it suddenly started tasting burnt and making a clicking sort of noise when i tried to use it. Then as the smoke goes into my mouth it tasted like burnt toast. I changed the coil but it still tasted the same, and all of my friends also said it tasted bad. I have the same juice and vape as my friend and his tastes fine, the only difference is that his is 3mg nicotine and k have 0mg, and my juice is a lot more runny.
Any ideas on what it may be as it quite unpleasant to use. Thanks to anyone who helps

Are you vaping your coil at 120 watts first of all? Wattage should stay consistent regardless of batteries, but depending on what coil you are using (what is the name of your tank, and the resistance of your tank) if you hit it with 120 watts, you're most likely going to burn it almost instantly.

Before being able to diagnose this, please post the NAME of the tank, the coil's resistance. (The device should read it in ohms) and in little tiny letters on the coil, it should tell you what wattage range is "recommended." You should start out by priming your coil below that wattage, slowly increasing your watts a bit at a time until you get a satisfying vape.

If your coil is burned (which it sounds like it is) your tank needs a thorough cleaning and washing while disassembled completely. Including your O-rings which, depending on how badly you burned things, you may want to replace if your tank came with spares. Dump out any remaining juice and clean.

Do not pass go and insert a new coil until you can give us some sense of what wattage you WERE using, vs. recommended wattage. If you overheat your tank/coil they will burn up quickly. Would also help to know the name of your mod.

Most people don't run their mods at maximum wattage. It stresses the mod, the batteries, and it's usually not a satisfying vape as mods really aren't designed to run for long periods at maximum wattage in fact it some cases the "wattage" is inflated, meaning that the battery can't even FIRE at maximum wattage as they aren't powerful enough to do so.

Might be helpful to name your batteries too.. Also please do some general reading of links that will likely be provided by members about e-cigs generally and how to use them.

Thanks for the reply. I believe the vape is a smok priv v8 with a 0.25 ohm coil. Everything on it is just basic and how it was when i purchased it. I also dont think you can turn down the wattage.
My friend has the same vape as me and uses the same juice but he has 3mg and i have 0mg. When i have tried his it tastes fine and he hasnt changed anything either.
Thanks

First it's Vapor not Smoke.

With that said it sounds like you're just vaping at too high of a wattage, 120W is too high for a 0.25 ohm coil. Drop it down to around 60-70W

First let me provide a link to the device so everyone can look at the specs: SMOKTech Priv V8 Starter Kit - Purple Black

And a picture so the OP can make sure that this is his device:

Off the top of my head I'm thinking that your juice has too much PG in it. Check your bottle and his. Look for a VG/PG ratio. Also, there are several atomizers available for that tank. The two of you aren't necessarily using the same atomizer:

Replacement Atomizer Coil for SMOKTech TFV8 Baby Beast
