Hello all! I am new here and I hope to stick around for quite some time, this website was recommended to me so I registered!

Ok so Im very new with the E-cig, I honestly don't know much about them, my main aim is to quit smoking of course :) I just believe I need a little guidance!

On Thursday I purchased my E-cig, which is a 'De Bang' I immediately stopped the cigs, but on Friday I went and smoked a real one, I don't even know why because the e-cig was satisfying me! I got 7 flavors, all of which are tobacco types, I got the samsung flavor which I used first then decided to try Mayfair, which Im not too keen on I don't know if its helping me much, I don't know how its meant to taste.. but its just not doing the job for me! all of my flavors are 24mg, I plan on getting a different type of flavor this week like strawberry or something & see if I will see a difference!

tobacco type of flavors - is there any people would recommend? I have heard about the B&H and quite fancy that?

My main aim is to quit smoking and I'll purchase any flavor necessary to do so. The reason I purchased this particular E-cig is because Ive seen quite a few people quit from using it!

Any advice/recommendations are welcome :) Thanks for reading.

Edit: I have been smoking for 9 years

Welcome. If you still have cravings, you may want to consider upping the nic. Lots of members have an ejuice a bit higher than what they normally vape to help you thru the rough spots. Everyone quits the stinkies at their own pace, so don't beat yourself up. For some, it is quite an adjustment. Sounds like you are on the right track tho.
Congrats on getting an ecig and becoming healthier. For most of us, when the taste buds start to 'wake' back up, the taste on a cig is downright awful...
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

:)

Welcome and congrats on quitting. Don't worry about the falling off the wagon, it takes time to find the right equipment and flavor so stick with it. Myself I like coffee and chocolate, don't care for the fruits, and very few of the tobacco. I have started DIY on my juice as with all the samples I ordered I never found one that I felt OMG this is great, so I just started doing my own. There is a DIY forum section that will help if that is the route you want to go. Good Luck and Keep Vaping.

Wellcome BBirch,

you've come to the right place. Just looked at the De Bang, which looks like an ego style battery, tis a better device than a cig a like batter. Tried to find the mha ratting, but only say a 900 puff count. That made me laugh, cause all the cig a like batteries usually say puff count.

any who, the ego style is a decent place to start, and to maximize your satisfaction without stepping up to a vv or vw mod, would recommend getting a decent atomizer. Something like an Innokin Iclear 30 or Iclear 16, or perhaps a Protant 2 or PT mini. or maybe a cartomizer & tank system. These are all decent beginner to intermediate atomizers. and will out perform cheap plastic clearos. Your atomizer is ultimately responsible for the quality and quantity of vapor produced. And that is ultimately going to be the end quest of all those who vape. You are going to get more satisfaction and pleasure out of your vape, and never be tempted to pick up an analog cig again once you experience what a quality atomizer can do. A good analogy is that any stove, range or campfire has the ability to heat your cookware, but if you are cooking your food/juice in a coffee can, well it will get warm and vape, but it is not going to be as good as if prepared in some fancy stainless cookware.

The reason I mentioned the atomizers I did is that the coil heads are replaceable, with a beauty ring they'll look ok on an ego, and you won't have to throw them away, while getting used to doing some work to maintain quality of vape. On some of these tanks, you can rebuild the coil yourself, but they have replacement heads that take seconds to switch out. Once you see the improvement of vape, you'll start to be curious about re-buildable atomizers, or rba's for short.

The main advantage of a variable voltage mod, and/or variable wattage, is that:

!) you can fine tune the setting of your output to find the sweet spot of the flavored liquid you are vapping. Different flavors taste better at different voltage or wattage that your coil is cooking at. Because of this versatility, they allow one a wider range of atomizers that you can use.

2) these devices have a removable, battery inside that you can change once the charge is used up. After awhile all batteries loose the ability to hold a charge, you simply get new rechargeable batteries. Not stuck with a device that has failed and needs to be replaced.

Once you get to the point where you are having a very satisfying vape, and have been analog free for a few months, and you happen to light one up, it will taste like chit, nasty and bleeh, lol, you'll wonder how you were ever satisfied by a old fashioned device that had to be started manually with a flame.

You will likely never find a e-liquid that will taste like the brand of cigarettes you are used to smoking. but, once you explore the variety of favors available, you won't care. Seriously. Right now my favorite collection of juices that I have to choose from are, Super Skunk, Whiskey, Virginia Fired Tobacco, Vanilla Tobacco, Duche De Leche, Wacky Tobacky. Tomorrow am expecting some Stoned Smurf and Boba's Bounty. Trying to get some Smurf Piss, but it is not unavailable. Smurf's apparently have shy bladders of something.

Until 5 months ago, I was a smoker of 37 years. Since I started vapping, I have not craved or missed smoking. I have had no withdrawal symptoms, I haven't even been tempted to kill anyone. In fact I am happier, and more positive now than I ever was while smoking. I have more fun at work, The guests have more fun too. I even make more money in tokes, because of my attitude. Not to mention, that my lungs don't hurt, I don't have large tar colored thick slimy wads of phlegm that I hack up an spit out. ....

Vape On!

Hi BBirch...

the two tobacco flavours I love are i-breath's Marlboro (as thats what I used to smoke) and now Im on Totally Wicked's juices and love their "Golden Virgin"...

As an ex-smoker you'll eventually get curious enough to try a fruit flavour, and I love the Banana in i-breath but hate the banana in Totally Wicked brand juice....

Its a long and exciting, and sometimes a little frustrating journey - but everyone's experience is here to share with you.

US members will be having juices not readily available to us here in the UK.

I find a lot of carboot sales/markets (Bescot Market Wednesbury) sell lots of varieties, and I have recently discovered a high-street shop in Wolverhampton, Walsall and Tamoworth which is all "Totally Wicked" branded stuff - but they are good because you can get good advice and try for free dozens of flavours when you walk in...

Good luck, and stick with it :)

I'm not familiar with what kind of ecig/atomizer you're using but they do wear out - wicks/coils, etc... so eventually the benefit is lost and you'll probably revert to normal fags without knowing why....

Keep vaping brother!! :vapor:

The biggest hurdle and challenge for most folks coming off of analogs is that they are looking for (at least temporarily) something that "tastes like what I used to smoke". There's good news and bad news on that front.

The bad news (might as well get it out of the way) is that none of the e-juice making alchemist geniuses out there (and that was NOT said with sarcasm, people who make good juice are performing magic!) can or likely ever will make a vaping juice that tastes EXACTLY like burning tobacco, paper and filler/additives. Some of those magicians have made some juices that come close, that have key elements or flavor notes that a particular ex-smoker is looking/longing for, but I can tell you (as a cigar smoker) that it's kind of like asking a wine maker to make a wine that tastes like scotch. They can try, may even get something that has similarities, but the only thing that tastes EXACTLY like a cigarette, a cigar, or scotch is a cigarette, a cigar or scotch. This is true for straight tobacco and menthols. Some come close (for some people) but other folks will try the exact same juice and say that it doesn't "hit their buttons" when it comes to tasting like "old smokey".

Sorry for the bad (but as honest as I could make it) news. But there IS good news! REAL good.

Once you are "over the hump" and get the taste of cigs out of your mouth and system, you'll notice your ability to taste, notice and enjoy other flavors (previously lost and covered by the analogs) comes back. Then, all of a sudden the world of ejuice and flavors opens up. Not only are you noticing taste(s) and subtleties in food again, but the idea of an ejuice that starts with a strong peach that moves quickly to a lasting note of mango that then finishes with a lingering hint of raspberry.... well, that doesn't sound as odd or as "fruity" as it might have when someone was sucking on a burner. Especially when the vape also includes a significant throat hit, you know that the nicotine is there, and you get to exhale a cloud of tasty and velvety vapor.

I'm rambling aren't I? Bad habit of mine, please forgive me. What I should have probably typed was "welcome to the community, you're going to have a great time and learn a lot. GOOD on you for quitting analogs and enjoy vaping." Yeah, that's probably what I should have said.

Lol Thank you for the detailed posts guys, I've already learnt a ton (today alone) thanks to you helpful people :) As silly as it may sound, earlier Id mentioned that Mayfair wasn't working for me, but I think its growing on me! maybe I was a little too quick to write it off! but yeah, I intend to come on here daily! from now on! (free as of tomorrow all week so you may get fed up of me around here  ) your words and encouragement is much appreciated! Thank you all once again.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You've found a tun of knowledgeable, friendly people here that can help you with just about anything (even stuff outside the vaping world). Experiment with small samples of juices till you find 3 or three good venders and then you can stock up on their stuff. Might be a good idea to get a back up kit just in case you're out and the battery dies. I usually have at least two Spinners and a couple eGo Twist around just in case. (I also like to change flavors a lot) so I have several evods/ProTanks around as well.

Congrats on quitting, keep up the good work!
