I'm David - a relatively new ecf member.
Been smoke free for 62 days. vaping has changed my life in one of the best possible ways EVER!
Ecf has been my go to place for vaping info.
Me- 30 year/1ppd Marlboro Lts/Camel Lts.
Stopped smoking Aug 19, 2014.
Like everyone else on the planet, I stopped smoking a dozen times w/o success. Every method except hypnosis and acupuncture. Tried blucigs 3 separate times. Nothing but "I NEED a cigarette - NOW!!!" every time....
So I'm puffin on a stupid blu thinking "this is not gona work AGAIN..." then I remembered being out in Malibu a few years ago and seeing people w glass tanks hanging around their necks w that cool looking orange syrup and thought "hmmm I wonder what those devices were all about" I also recalled seeing a "vape shop" in my local city.
I went to the shop and it was all over!
I started on a Nautilus Mini. Vanilla / tobacco (Space Jam Eclipse) and an Aspire 1600 mAH VV twist. Picked up a second tank (another mini) 2 weeks later for my second flavor - a fruity juice (sweet tart/smarties) called T-Virus by Outbreak. I finally found something that could honestly replace cigarettes. I NEVER could imagine that happening. Ever!!! I loved my cigarettes!!!
4 weeks in. I start building..... ;-)
Pegasus mod with a Mutation X... figured I'd start big...
Second atty was a Veritas which I instantly fell in love with and it's still my main daily atty. 7 weeks in - just picked up a Plume Veil V2 - also a great atty if the bottom vents were deigned a tiny bit differently to prevent leaking from fresh drippings (not a drip it, hit it and drip for next time before it goes into your pocket.. Its more drip, hit it them cap it and drip again when you're ready next time... I can deal with it as it makes such good flavor (brought out aspects of flavor I didn't find with other attys even after different builds on the Veritas!) The Plume Veil may be the first authentic piece I chase after to own (staying w good replicas until I learn and try).
While a great glassomizer can help you stop smoking, dripping is your 100% guarantee that you'll never even think about cigarettes again. The experience is a completely different animal! The ability to self titrate you nic intake is much more effective. The flavors are more effective. The whole vaping experience becomes more effective!
Yes, I'm below the 1.0 mark..... I run the Veritas at about a 0.50. The Plume Veil is at 0.30 and I build the MX at abput a 0.18-.20 so it'll shake out to somewhere around a 0.23-.25...
Love / need the ability to only need to take a 1 second rip and get a good hit sometimes!
I still carry a tank everywhere I go. No questions! Just like butts and a lighter used to ALWAYS be at hand, my Aspire tanks are a part of my life.
Dripping and more importantly, building is my new hobbie. I always am at my workbench doing things. Always! Vaping was a perfect technical hobbie for me to acquire (have en engineering background w/ a solid knowledge of electronics, chemistry and physics). I didn't have the prerequisite "basic" multimeter to get started - I own a $200 UEI digital multimeter!
I have a full metal working set up (everything but the lathe)!
Vaping was the PERFECT new hobbie for me!!!!
So, 8+ weeks in and I'm a vaper to the core!
The reason my wife and I (and all my friends and family and anyone else who knows and loves me) are so excited about vaping is it really is the only method of smoking cessation that is THIS effective.
So, to wrap up my 1st post in ecf, I need to say thanks big time to the creators, admins, and every member world wide that is part of this group. I've read hours of threads on many topics and found answers to every question I've had in these 2 months of vaping. I have learned countless facts and concepts about the technical and esthetic experiences of millions of hours of vaping that has gone on befote my time. The ability to learn from others mistakes and successes is invaluable and I am grateful!!!
4 more posts and I can interact. I need to get into some of these threads!
