New eGo DOA! HELP!!!!

Got both packages (juice and hardware today) and was sooooo excited. One hitch - one of them does not seem to work! It's late here, so not a lot of time to check one by one, but here are the basics:

Using charged 650 bat - check
Filter in cart-check
VG juice in cart - check ( and seems to be enough, it is slushy but not pooled)
Everything screwed together adequately- check

I can't find what I am doing wrong if anything. This is such a disappointment after studying and preparing for this day like it was a graduation exam

Any guidance or suggestions?

put it on the charger just in case it did not charge the first time it should blink if it takes a charge or call your vendor to troubleshoot

1. Where did you get them?
2. Did you blow all the primer out of the atty first?

If you answered no to #2, then give it a rinse under warm tap water and blow out as much water as you can. Then screw it on to the battery and press the button to do a "dry burn." Be aware that dry burning will cause the heating element to get VERY hot, VERY quickly, so 2 seconds is long enough. If it's working, you should hear cracking and popping almost instantly. If not, either the ego is defective, or the atty is "DOA." In either case, contact whoever you purchased it from and let them know. All of reputable sellers are very understanding about DOA atomizers and defective batteries. Some have very short warranties, but all the reputable guys will exchange DOA stuff.

I bought the hardware through myvaporstore.com (please tell me they are one of the good guys/girls!?!?).

Veedubb65 - yes, I cleaned out the primer first ( after reading so many posts about how bad it would taste otherwise, that was my first step).

Is a defective Atty common (or me having extra bad luck)?

between myself and friends I have converted I have ordered & received 9 510/ego starter kits plus a bunch of cartos/attys. No DOAs yet so must just be your "good luck". "starter kits" usually come with two of each component......have you tried different cart/batt combos? The odds of having two bad attys AND two bad batteries are very slim. Hopefully you can get at least one good working one then have your vendor replace what doesn't work.

I would swap attys on the batteries, to isolate your problem, then call the vendor. You are going to need some more attys anyway, so if is the atty, baby the one you have by always keeping it moist with juice, 3 drops, blow into paper towel (the first time) and drip 3 drops more and vape.

I get my attys at Liberty flights. If you dont mind dripping (as I mentioned above) try the LR306 attys and make sure to get a drip tip for them. I order 5 packs, and they come to about 6.50 each. I love these things on my ego.

if it is the battery, you should be ok for the day as long as your are not chain vaping, just put it on the charger before you go to bed. Call the vendor and let them know about the DOA battery, or atty. Both can happen.

You are going to love that PV once you get it figured out.

Also make sure it's threaded on all the way. Every now and then you get an ego batt with threads that aren't the smoothest and it won't thread on all the way without putting just a little bit of extra torque on it.

As far as DOA atty's being common, no. Not common at all, but it does happen. In 6 months I've had a total of probably 20 attys and only one was ever DOA.

Oh, and don't freak out that I've had that many attys. Most of them still work, but I've had a lot of different stuff.

I have received batts that apear DOA. I leave them on the charger for a long time and they eventually take a charge. Seems sometimes they are very run down and take a little bit to get them going.

Also very possible. Litium ion batteries, contrary to what a few people will tell you, should never be run down completely, and they do run down over time. Every now and then time between manufacture and sale can be a little too long, which results in a battery that won't take a charge very well at first. Usually it doesn't cause any long term damage, but may take a few cycles to get back up to working properly.
