I just posted a similar question yesterday. I got an eGo with the USB passthrough and the Mega Atty and whistle mouthpiece. The comments on my thread indicated that others have had this issue too. And they gave some suggestions about what to do.

Oh, and to test it, I did switch my Atty to one of my regular sized 510 Atty's (that I got with my Joye 510) and I get a ton more vapor. I can't use another Mega Atty to compare right now because I haven't got any more of them. However, I do have several on the way, so I will check to see if it's a general issue with the Mega Atty, or if it's a problem with THAT Atty.

Today, after a bit of a break in period, it's doing better, but still not so great.

Here's a link to my thread yesterday with the suggestions for a possible "fix" to the problem, if you'd like to take a look:

Ok, so all of the troubleshooting has been done, swapping and comparing atomizers and batteries... There is no reason why the eGo should make less vapor with the same atomizer as the 510 battery connected to the same atomizer (at different times of course, lol). Well, contrary to most people on this thread so far, I have had MUCH better experiences with 510 atomizers (low resistance and standard) and cartomizers than the mega carts and atomizers. I could never get as much vapor with the mega stuff because the draw seemed to be less concentrated.

Some advice on how to get your eGo rocking is use the low resistance cartomizers... The low resistance atomizers usually die on me after about 2 weeks of use.... The 510 and eGo are exactly the same thing... you can think of the 510 as the small battery, and the eGo as the large one. I actually have been rocking the 1000 mah eGo battery and it keeps me going for a looooong time. I have some tips for your ego stuff on my blog if you want to take a look. In my experience with the 510 and eGo is the eGo produces much more vapor. Is it a true Joyetech ego? The reason I ask is the knockoff atomizers don't burn as well as true Joyetech atomizers. There is a big difference in quality. The atomizers do seem to have a breakin period but usually only a couple of hours at best. May have a misaligned heating element? Please reply and we'll help get this going for you.

See Genuine Joyetech eGo
See Genuine Joyetech atomizers.
Also checkout the Joye eGo XL atomizer and Joye eGo XL cartridges. Great vapor production and the cartridge hold 2.5ml of ejuice.

Hope this helps.

I bought the ego with mega battery....first day, plenty of vape dripping 3 drops directly on atomizer. Atomizer that came with ego. Well, 3rd day now and battery charged I have went thru 7 atomizers, and am not getting ANY vape. I can hear the gurgle sound when pressing the battery LED. Cleaned them, blowed them, put juice on them and not getting any vape. Man, frustrating as I am/was LOL a chain smoker.....Any advice???? Thanks

Those big batteries take awhile to re-charge. I have talked with other people who had the problem you are describing. After listening to them, I suggested the put that puppy on the charger when they go to bed and take it off in the morning when they get up.

This suggestion solved their problem. Maybe it will work for you too.

PS - This may have been suggested already. Sorry if it is a repeat posting.

If you are charging them for that long, and still having problems, there are only two things I can recommend.

#1 - Make sure your charging cable is working properly. It may be defective or have a broken wire, etc.

#2 - Contact the seller and tell them about your issues. Most reputable sellers have a warranty on their batteries. Don't delay on this contact. You want to get on it while you still have warranty.

I know this is not much help to you right now, Richuncle, but it is all I can think of right now.

I use the eGo battery with the standard 510 atty. If it floods, it vapes like crap. I blow it out, only half fill my cart, vape for 10 or so min. It usually comes back to life. Some times it takes longer and sometimes less. Just be careful not to dry burn. I have several carts with no liquid or filler in them. I will put one on to burn the flood out. Vape until the gurgling stops and then put me filled cart back on. I hope this helps a little.

Sounds like a flooded Atty to me! I have experienced a couple of LR that have flooded on me the past 2 - 3 weeks and it can shorten their lives. Even the one that I had been using up until yesterday had hit 3 ohms of resistance and I bought 2 more attys as well and the one I am currently using has not flooded yet.. When they flood, they do not produce anything, blow it out, and dry burn it, then it should start working unless you flood it again.

i just got a new ego today and wondered if the atty needs to be broken in to make more vapor?
i have been using the joye510 and it produces tons of vapor compared to the ego so far. seems like its about half the vape from the ego. i thought maybe i drown the atty so i blew it out and tried again and still not much vapor at all. im using the same liquid as the 510 and put the 510 atty on the ego and it worked great so i know its not the battery. i have taked around 30 or so puffs so far with no better vapor than the 1st.
do the egos just not make as much vapor?

hey! i just got my ego set 3 days ago and guess what? I had the same problem as yours. On the first 2 days, it seemed like there was very little vapour not to even mention the weak and almost zero throat hits. I've pretty much tried all the methods as well and i even chain puffed on it furiously for both the 2 days (didn't inhale into my lungs) till the atty got extremely hot as i was rather frustrated by it. However, on the 3rd day, somehow everything began to fall into place. after dripping about 2-3 drops on the atty, first vape of the 3rd day, the first inhale that i got was just simply amazing. Perfect throat hit plus tons of vapour (easily 1.5 to 2 times more vapour than an analog). After that, i just have to drip liquids every now and then once i get the burnt taste. So yes, i guess there is a 'break-in' period. I hope this helps you! :)

since i now have 3 attys and its been a few months 2 are great now and 1 is still alittle weaker, harder to draw on than the others, the 510 attys were never hard to draw just the 1 ego atty.

Try the 510 atties with your eGo; same thread... this way you could determine if the one you call eGo atty is not working right...

just found this thread. I used my new riva 510 today. I took the atty and cart off the joye 510 and put it on the riva (I did charge the battery). I got nothing! turns out the problem was the atty wasn't screwed all the way on the battery, even though I was sure it was. I was surprised how much further it screwed on, but it was a tight fit, almost felt like I was forcing it. after that is worked great. just in case that helps anyone.
