So I've been checking out the newer 640mah vv passthroughs that allow 3-6volt vaping and just now noticed something pretty nice. I came upon this realization while trying to find the Stainless Steel version at a good price. (the new version doesn't have that silicon covering and horrible power button) Supposedly they are 100% passthrough as well, so you can vape at higher voltage even if the battery is close to dead.

Found one here: eGo V2 - Variable voltage passthrough Battery - Stainless Steel | Passthroughs | iVAPE

Description says: " Uses LiPo batteries instead of lithium ion, for safer chemistry. "
Wait? What? LiPo can be rather volatile, especially when the battery takes abuse.

Now I looked under Technical and got: "Battery: USB 650mAh LiFePo4"

aHa! Now that makes sense. This is GREAT new folks! LiFe
batteries are much more stable both chemically and thermally. They also have longer life cycles as they have a lower rate of cell loss.

Thought I'd share ... :vapor:

Seem to be getting mixed info about these being true passthrough.
iVape emailed me and mentioned the battery had to have some charge.

Free-ecigs has one (a bit more expensive and made by someone else) and they state it's true passthrough. However, PB did a review with the same makers as the one they are selling and stated you needed to have some charge as well. Bottom line, don't take my word on these being 100% passthrough no matter where you get it if you indeed decide to buy something like this.

The freecigs version is the one made by Trueman or whatever btw. Its the one that has the bottom usb cover that you unscrew to access the usb connection. You can also charge them with a regular ego charger just as you would with a standard.

Also of note: These are best used on a 5v 2amp output device. So you might want to grab a usb wall adapter rated as such.
