I have tried these new silicone caps.
Totally Wicked do sell them.
they seems good to prevent leaking from the tank for what people is saying in europe.
Honestly i didn't have notable leaking issues with the original tanks/caps but i like the idea of stocking caps instead of full assembled tanks, it's cheaper and when a cap seems to not lock perfectly or do leak i toss the cap and get a new one.
I really don't need a bunch of tanks, just few ones and many caps.

there are a couple of cons though:
- they reduce the tank capacity a bit (as the cap has a part that goes inside the tank).
- it's trickier to take the cap off the tank to refill.

TW do also sell type B tank caps.
i got 20 of them and just 5 tanks.
The type B caps are not silicone made though, they are hard plastic like the original.

ournature, thanks for the update - a few questions. While leaks haven't been a problem with mine, I see three ways where it could happen - 1) through the tank cap connection to the tank; 2) through the hole in the cap; 3) through the spike to the coil and out.

I've been assuming that if the cap is on correctly, it's 2 or 3 and most likely 3. And for that to happen the wick has got to be out of place (very thin ejuice could get by the wick and fluff), but for 2 - through the hole - I'm wondering if the silicon cap would tend to 'seal' that hole? Being more flexible than the hard plastic, etc., where it might be tighter against the outside of the spike - hope that make sense - and so do you see the hole in the silicone acting like that?

I got the new style tank two weeks ago at my local store. Leaks have not been an issue with them. The hard plastic cap leaks I think because the hole just gets worn bigger and bigger by the atty. But the soft rubber ones have some give and move to line up and not get pierced bigger and bigger. They are also a lot easier to pull off. but I had one yesterday started to break around the edge from being pulled in and out of the atty. You can also use the plugs on the old tanks as well. As far as the mouthpiece bits, I have no idea I pull mine out form the start and don't use them. You get more vapor and better throat hit with out them IMHO

Exactly Kent, the seal is tighter because of the cap soft rubber.
the only way you can have a leak (or better say 'overfeeding') with this cap is the one you mentioned in point 3.

When you puncture the cap with the spike it doesn't create a 'round' hole like it happen with the hard caps, this is more like a slit.
It may happen the intersection is so tight that the draw gets very hard and the juice can barely be sucked down to the wick, because air can't get into the tank...
It happend to me a couple of times, i had to take off a little piece of rubber next to the slit to fix this.
Like mattp169 wrote in the post above these caps seems to be a bit delicate on the edge, they can break around there when pulling off the cap to refill.

I'm still not sure if i prefer the plastic or the silicon caps, they both are pretty ok to me.

Thanks. Sort of what I figured. And the air flow point is also crucial, but there is a certain size of hole that will allow air but not fluid because 'surface tension' (or somthing similar). I found this out with the straw mod with the blue foam plug where only 1/4 of the cart well had the blue foam and the bottom was all ejuice. I still used the straw mod - so there was a "pipe" down into the ejuice but none would leak out because of that factor - surface tension - the diameter was too small for fluid but still allowed the air flow and kept the ejuice flowing through the blue foam.

I'm guessing that if there are still leaks with these new caps (given all is working well) then the no. 3 possibilty is the only one left and that has more to do with the size of the spike in relation to the wick and the placement of the wick. There could be something - a 'hook/hanger' of some sort that kept the wicking in place....

personally, I have never felt the leaking had anything to do with the tank. I have been using the same tanks now for close to 3 months. I also tend to use the same one over and over for weeks, and I haven't had one "wear out" or leak.

I did have one leaking problem. seemingly completely out of the blue, I had one start to leak, then every tank I put in leaked. I was away from home and it leaked. So I popped another tank on and it leaked too, and so on. I think I drained 4 tanks within seconds. Anyway, I found the wick fix by Vicki and tried it. I have yet to have another leak, and am still using that atty and the same five original tanks. So i do think most leaks are from the wick somehow.
