18 years for me - wow, it's been a long time. And, now on my 2nd full day without analogs! I agree, I thought it would be a long process but, it is almost too easy.

I'm not going to tell myself that I'm quit. It doesn't work that way for me. I think it would make it harder. If I really want an analog I'll have one. It may even help my conversion to ecig when I do. Who knows... For now, I'm surprised and happy at what this device is doing for me. I do anticipate harder times down the road...

You might have harder times down the road, you might not. If you want an analog, then by all means have one. Quite a few people vape and smoke the occasional analog. I started out vaping 18mg, but still had some strong cravings. I got some 24mg juices and that eliminated the cravings for me. Now I vape 18mg most of the time, but when I really want an analog or when I feel like I'm really "missing out on something", I switch over to 24mg and it really helps.

If you're that blown away by the eGo, you'll be in heaven when you try a real mod

I was just thinking the same thing, tonight I tried a 5v box mod I picked up and a wetbox I picked up, and I actually got a nic buzz for the first time in about 3 months... it's awesome!! Now I know what vaping is REALLY all about.

See what I mean about getting harder, OB1J3D1??! I've only tried one PV model and now I gotta learn all about real mods, wetboxes and more voltage stuff, then figure out the best way to get my hands on one, and then another - then I'll probably have to build one myself "just to see"...geez!

I also didn't want to put that pressure on myself by saying that I quit, for me I think it was that I didn't want to feel guilty if it didn't work like every time I had attempted to quit in the past. However with vaping it kind of happened by accident, I really was only trying to cut down. When I had gone a week without one, I gave all my cigarettes away but one open pack I had. I got through my cravings by telling myself if I felt like I needed a smoke, I would vape for 15 minutes, if I still wanted one I would have it. But the vaping worked everytime, I still have that pack of cigs in my purse, it's been 2 months but it is there so that I know I don't need it, not that I can't have it.

EXACTLY! I cleaned my home office today - windows, glass, screens, desk, yada yada. Everything is so sparkley! And six hours later not an ash one on my keyboard or anywhere else! I sat back and blew vapor at my drafting lamp *lol*

I had one analog the first full day of vaping and one the second day - more so because I thought I should, I guess, and maybe to compare. I certainly wasn't "craving" one, by any means (but again, I thought I should be). After that the idea became rather ...distasteful. I still have a partial pack in my car; I'll just leave them there. I don't talk about having quit, only that I haven't had one in nearly three weeks, but I do think as if I've quit - sort of...I'm sure that makes no sense except in my brain - sorry. Just another mind game I'm playing with myself, I guess *LOL*

Exactly! I kinda want to have one just to see how it tastes. But, I'm just riding the wave now. no cravings and I'm not telling anyone I've "quit".

Lisa,

I feel the same way. I only wanted to cut down but "by accident" I just stopped. I haven't had to do the 15 minutes test. but I do still feel like I need that pack in my pocket just in case.

Woman of Heart,

I bought 18 mg juice as well and it seems to be working for me. Perhaps I'll buy some 24 just in case I get some stronger cravings. As of now I'm really surprised that I'm liking flavors that have nothing to do with tobacco. About to try the ultimate test. Go drinking with my eCigarette.

Ain't it great OB?

I was also one of the lucky ones, quit immediately. I hope all continues to go smoothly for you.

For me, it was eight months between my switch to vaping and my first pub experience.

Nobody in the tavern questioned my PV, they all seemed to know what it was that I was doing.

And, I survived the night out without going bonkers for a cigarette. :)

And, I understand that concern all too well. My single previous attempt to get off cigarettes I used the patch.

A night on the town ended that attempt to quit smoking. I had no problem

Good luck and Vape On!

For the first time ever, I have a keyboard without any burn marks on it!

Oh, wow . . . I didn't even think of how much longer my computers will last. Just the ashes that fall in and the tar that gets sucked in alone will preserve the life of a notebook! It just gets a little better every day.

Yup! 24 hours and my keyboard is STILL ash-free!!

I've got a dual monitor desktop setup and a laptop open most of the time, and used a super-duper air "purifier" in here. When I finally turned it off yesterday after cleaning I started going through sound withdrawals! *lol*

I'm still blown away by my eGo. No need for mod here yet. I am staying far away from the mod forum until I need to be in there.

Thanks for the support! I survived my night on the town (cigarettes wise). But, a liter of Spaten Optimater does it's own type of damage. I started out going outside with my buds to vape when they went out to smoke. One of em tried it out and said right then and there "where do I get one of these? I'll buy one!" Later however, I decided to vape on while inside. =)

Finally finished those pre-filled Marlboro carts that came with my kit and moved on to the juices I bought. Cleaning/sterilizing carts and filling them up is easier than I thought. *Thanks cozzcon for your videos*

I really thought that I would need something that tastes like a menthol cigarette. But, the one juice that tastes most like that is probably my least favorite. I know my taste buds will change... But, for now I'm liking "gum flavors" like mint, cinnamon, and fruity mint / cinnamon mint. I'm not missing the tobacco flavor at all. In fact I need to add straight mint or something else to my "menthol cigarette" juice. I think I'm going to be a "cool" flavor guy as opposed to a "warm" flavors if that makes any sense (cool = mint, warm = vanilla or something like cookies)

I'm not really changing flavors all that much. I've also got flavors that I am fine mixing. But, I'm wondering how often I need to clean / maintain my attys. Do I just keep on going until I experience a change in performance? Should I do them once a week? once a month? I do the carts whenever I change flavors with iso and leave to dry overnight and I charge my batteries overnight (only need one eGo battery for a day!) When I change flavors, I can still taste a bit of the old (I'm assuming this is on the atty) for a while then it just tastes like the new.

Sounds like you are doing really well, I only use drip tips so can't help you with questions about carts and cartos but what I do is put 2 drops of vg on my atty in between flavors, vape that for a bit then go to next flavor. You can get a bottle of vg at walmart beside the iso alcohol is called humco glycerin. Happy vaping!!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa,

I'll have to look into that vg (humco glycerin). I got a drip tip with my kit. But, I've been a bit chicken to try it out. It seems like a more "advanced" form of vaping. But, I have my first weekend with my eGo ahead of me and I'll probably try it out.

So, for clarification, you drip and vape and when you want to change flavors you use the straight vg and drip it just like the juice then change flavors. Do you vape the vg? I mean do you inhale it and all? Also, when dripping, what am I aiming for? Is it the "bridge" (it looks like a raised rounded part that goes from one side to the other when looking down into the atty.) Am I supposed to try to cover the whole top of the atty? or perhaps I'm just over analyzing and just need to drop a few drops in there and go for it! Also, will I be looking for the same "cart getting kinda dry or atty is getting a bit too hot put it down for a while or top it off flavor" when I'm dripping before I add more juice? I don't want to flood the atty. And, if I do flood it, am I correct in that I can remove it and blow it out or vape through it?

Thanks for all your help!

It is a bit of a learning curve learning how to drip, but once you got it, it is the easiest because you don't have to clean anything but the atty, which I do once a week. Yes you can vape the vg just as you normally vape, your juices are made up of nic/ pg/ vg/ flavorings so it isn't anything that you don't vape already, it doesn't have a flavor but is a little sweet.

To drip, if you are using an atty that is already in juice, just drip 3 drops in holding your ego upright so the juice slides down to the atty, then vape until you get that funny burnt taste, then drip 3 more drops. You will know if you flooded it if you get a gurgling sound but usually you can just vape through it, if not take it off and blow it out. If you are using a new atty that you just blew out or one that you just cleaned, prime it first with about 5 drops the first time, then go back to your 3 drops after that. What I do is fill a 3 ml bottle in the morning of whatever I want to vape for the day and I am good for the day. I don't drive so isn't an issue for me but don't drip and drive, use cartos or carts when driving.

Thanks for the dripping tutorial Lisa!

So I drip the juice down the side of the "cone" down to the atty? That sounds easy!

don't drip and drive - I like that...

Have a great weekend. The less I'm here the more fun I'm having with my PV!
