New eGo user, looking for pointers

Hi Guys,

I recently started vaping, and I actually found a local shop that carries ego-c kits in stock. I picked one up, along with some Juicy brand e-juice (blueberry, menthol, and peach).

I got the ego charged and filled the carts no problem, and I'm getting decent vapor, but very little flavour. I literally can't even tell what the flavours are, other than slight sweetness on the sides of my tongue. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal?? I sure hope not, cause of it is, it's a huge disappointment.

Any pointers you guys could offer would be great. Is my problem a ego attie problem, or something else? Did I miss a step?

To fill/prep the cartridge, I removed the silicone cap, dripped in about a ml of ejuice, poked a hole in the cap with a paperclip, put the cap back on, inserted the cart in the cone, and it vaped right away. There is a very slight taste of burning plastic, but there is a little sweetness coming through.

Is the juice I bought trash, or did I do something wrong? Or are the ego atties just crap?

Is it the ego c twist? look at the bottom of the battery,you can adjust the voltage from 3.2 to 4.8 volts. start low and work your way up until it's too hot. You'll know it,it feels bad on the throat. Back it down till you get a great hit that doesn't burn. I have 2 of there and I love them.

Currently it is not a twist, just the standard 650mah. I have a twist on order, but it hasn't shown up yet.

dredd, I have the same setup as you, just the regular eGo-C. I use the Visions Clearomizer V2s to stop the leaking issue, that you'll probably have too when your tanks get some age on them.

As far as the juice goes, you're probably doing it right, it's just that, depending on how much you smoked, your tastebuds are in recovery. It'll take a bit for you to taste stuff again. Until then, you can order extra flavor on your juices, or get some straight flavors and add it yourself.

Then again, your juice could be crap. Try some from several different vendors before you give it a no-go.

Did you by any chance smoke menthols?

Like infoimp said, it could be your taste buds, when I first started vaping I could not really taste much flavor but
after a week or so I was tasting the flavor a lot more.

I also have the eGo-C upgrade & the eGo-C Twist and there is a world of difference when vaping with the twist.
Set that sucker to 4.2 and your flavor will be that much better.....my eGo-C is my spare now.

Funny thing, I actually quit smoking cold turkey in Sept of 08. But lately I have had an insatiable desire to grab a cancer stick...it's really intense. I started vaping to appease these cravings, and I'm liking it, aside from the very weak flavour. Anyways, the point is, it's definitely not my taste buds.

Maybe it's how I have the attie set, maybe I'll try soaking them in vodka or pre-soaking the wick...

Can anyone link me to an ego-c type "a" best practices guide, or recommended steps to take for best results? Thanks for all your help guys.

id be interested to see an ego best practices guide for the C, although i have done a considerable amount of research here on ecf and elsewhere on the interwebs. I have a type A coming in the mail monday or tuesday. i CAN NOT WAIT. wish i had better luck finding the starter kit let alone any accessories in local stores/shops

I have spent a bundle on experiments,and have come to the realization that vv is the ONLY way to go. And if you're using the cartridges,that might be part of the problem. the clear tanks are the best way to go. I'll send you some links to some good stuff if you want. I'm still reasonably new to these mods-tried a bunch of the cig style units over the years and they all suck. I have done a buttload of research here and on youtube (I'm off work for a while and have a lot of free time) and I have found a TON of good deals on really good equipment. Let me know if you want some good info and I'll put some together for you,or shoot me your number in a private message and I'lll give you a call. The wife is out all day and I'll probably be farting around online most of the day.

Thanks man, if you could pm me some links Id really appreciate it. I'm in Canada by the way. I just bought a zmax mod after doing a ton of reading yesterday, got it for $99, along with some stardust v2s, and a couple smoktech tanks. I also bought some juice flavorings and base to mix some DIY, and some "gourmet" juice from crave. I think it's a combo of crappy juice, inexperience with the ego, and a sub-optimal attie.
