I just got the ego last week and am loving it, but just a question.
How do I know when it's time to change cartridges? I can tell that it's getting a little harder to get a lot of vapor...so I'm sure the cartridge is getting low....but when do I change it out? Do i wait for there to be NO vapor?
This is important because next week I have actual eliquid arriving and I'm going to be refilling the cartridges...and I really don't want to put new eliquid into a cartridge that still has some of the tobacco flavoring that came with it. Or am I missing something here and I am supposed to clean the cartridges first before refilling? Let me know. Thanks! :D

Take the filling out of the cartridge and rinse it well then pat dry, Stuff it back in the carto and refill with the juice of your choice, thats all there is to it.
Do not smoke it dry, this is bad for your atty and tastes nasty,
Standard cart filling will keep juice at the botton and not wick to the top very well,
Take a look at the modders forum for cart mods that may work a bit better for you

I would suggest that you Never vap a cartridge completely dry. You will get a terrible taste of burning plastic when you do.

When I cartridge is about empty you can remove the filling material from the cup inside the mouth piece and rinse it out in warm tap water. Mat it with a paper towel and let it dry in a warm spot. Then you can restuff the cup and add your own juice.

You might also do a little search here about "Blue Foam" and "Fluval". These are what most people use to suff an empty cartridge.

There is nothing wrong with adding new juice to an old cartridge without rinsing it out first or restuffing it. But the taste of the new juice will mix with the taste of the old juice. Thats ok if your adding the same flavor juice to a old cartridge. But if the flavors are different, the stronger flavor will over power the lighter one.

I would also do a little searching about how to clean your atomizer. I don't use cartridges on my eGo, I use Cartomizers. But when I did, I found it was a good idea to clean the atomizers one a week.

I pull the filler from my carts and rinse or replace it about once a week. Such a pain to rinse every time you refill...and not necessary. When your cart stops putting out the flavor or vapor you expect just pull off the cart and drip onto the filler until it kind of looks like a slushy (not pooled) and pop it back on your atty. Voila! Takes, maybe, 30 seconds.

hey ecm I made the mistake of ordering e-liquid after I recieved my eGo...should have ordered it the same day or day before, because the stock carts dont last long at all before they are dried out and start tasting absolutely gross, having ejuice onhand is ur best bet, refilling my cart is a constant thing, once u get used to the action its becomes second nature, just pop off the cart drip til the top of the filling is nice and damp, throw a drip or two on the atty, and your set. dont let the atty become too dry or the taste becomes harsh and burnnt, and dont go crazy with the juice either or ur stuck cleaning out the battery and atty too often...p.s. dont be too frugal with e juice u get wt u pay for most of the time, i stick with liquid express and tasty vapor.

The taste generally isn't that great, tie that in with your mental ticker of roughly how long it's been in there and how much you've been vaping. After a while, you'll just 'know' when it needs changing, and usually before you get an off taste.

I'd recommend using either a blue foam cap/dart or a ZFM, but try several and see how they work for you; I use ZFM, so I change carts about 2-3 times a day.

I agree with Cliff. Whenever the taste starts to fade, I top off the cart and when the draw starts to restrict I do a quick blow out. Not time consuming at all.

You already received great advise, so just saying welcome and hope you enjoy the Ego experience as much as I do...
One word of advise, when ordering batteries, order the manual ones, the auto ones for me just don't seem to work as good and I bought both types from Janty....Besides that, order a few extra attys, and maybe one or two batteries and you are good to go....
Again, Welcome...and Enjoy...
