Hi Fellow Vapers,

I bought this eleaf istick 60 watt temperature control mod 5 days ago and tonite added my

Derringer atomizer powered by dual bread toaster coils that I got from old bread toaster at garage sale.

The coils are .53 ohm and are flat ribbon wire and work pretty good.

The Long and Winding...Coils? :)
Love the beatle background!

hahahahahahahah----thx-----"I bought the Beatles White Album" when it came out and these 8x10 pics came with the album and so decided to put them under

the glass on my Vape Table/recycled computer hutch thing...I call it "Vaping with the Beatles"---hahahahahahah

Still using those "Toaster coils" I remember when you bought that toaster  to funny!
Sounds like a great setup though! I'm thinking of trying the Derringer myself.

The Derringer is nice I have the stainless steel and the copper model---both Clones----local shop---14.99 a piece.....

You can easily get juice in your mouth with this model as the coils are close to the top cap.......some people say keep the coils back close to the walls and this

will help with the juice in your mouth problem.

But none the less for little cash it is fun to play with........and looks kind of trick with the very short top cap.........

I am going to get to the vape shop 30 minutes away---on Tuesday and get me some Ni 200 pure nickel wire and start experimenting with this temp control thing.

As of now I am still wondering what the big thing is with Temperature Control.........as I bought this eleaf 60 TC Mod because I wanted another varable watt mod when

my Eleaf 50 watt needed a charge and they were not stocking the 50 watt anymore and so I bought this TC 60 watt. But still a big Virgin when it comes to Temp Control

technology.

I'm glad to see, that I'm not the only person recycling old heating elements. Coils from space heaters work well, but retain heat too long. The best thing I have found to use has been the heating element from hair dryers.

Here's the space heater dual coil setup that was used when I melted a cheap RDA. They came out to 0.09 ohm.

I been wanting to try toaster heating elements but I been waiting for mine to bite the dust. How do they work so far?

That's interesting the space heater coils----lots of fun finding alternate forms of coil wire to make coils from.

These pics are from my experience---I bought a used Toaster from a garage sale for 50 cents and harvested the flat ribbon wire.

I do allot with recycled electronics, if I can't fix it then it gets parted and scrapped. I like the idea behind the toaster coils, seems like they would work well.

Incase you're curious the space heater coils, are 18g nichrome wire which other then the gauge is suitable for vape use.

Yes the space heater coils should be suitable for vape use being nichrome. The guage being 18 is a bit thick but enough wraps would equal a little better ohms--maybe

like .50 or something maybe would not get so hot---maybe a single coil set up would cut down on the heat a little--- but none the less fun to experiment with anyway.

I found out that if you make a coil from the flat ribbon Toaster stuff and you try to torch it before installation then it just starts to deform and shrivels up.

So I made the coil and installed it into the derringer and did not do the torch thing and it works just fine.

It is fun to take switches and other electronic parts and use them in a mod housing for diy stuff........here is a pic of a Mr. Coffee Switch in a diy mod I made

last winter......

Gauge wise makes it I'm practical even single coil setup retained heat at that gauge. A good replacement however would be from a hair dryer which is still nichrome but a smaller gauge. I have had all sorts of coil setups using the 18g space heater elements and all of them had retained their heat for a good 15-20 seconds after firing them. Which is enough time to burn my wick dry.

I like your on/off, I been wanting to do the same but something not as big. In my box I added a 6.3v 1000 microfarad capacitor across the batteries to help on voltage drop under load.

I like, the switch looks good. The capacitor does store a charge and releases it when voltage drops, making the drop not has big getting more power to the 510. At first I had a 330 microfard cap across the batteries, recently upgraded it to a 1000 microfard cap. On a DC setup people will argue about how useful a cap can be but however I have noticed a difference day to day vaping.

I do more then just dabble in electronics, I have gone to college for electrical engineering, vaping setups are relatively easy compared to some of other stuff I have fixed/repaired.
