First of all I'd like to hang my head in shame at not having researched enough about ecigs, as well as what brand to get, and that is how it may have started downhill.

I bought a Bambino by Veppo which came w/ 2 atomizers, 2 batteries, 10 cartridges, a 30ml of 11mg Turkish flavor and ONE friggin wall charger for 100 bucks. From day one I was having issues. (I had saved a link from this site a few months ago when I was considering it so even though I don't remember how I came across it, I naively believed that there was a good reason.) The vapor was virtually non-existent. I kept trying for about an hour and thought that maybe since I bought the juice that these were just empty cartridges. I tried adding a couple drops to the cartridge and that's when it first started getting into my mouth. I tried another cartridge and the first couple of inhales I got some vapor but after that it was back to almost no vapor. The next day I was more dedicated to working w/ these so after I had put a couple drops in a few cartridges and let them sit out overnight, I tried one of those. Lots of juice still coming out. A part of it was realizing when the battery was running low it wouldn't produce vapor and I'd be left w/ juice in my mouth. Using a new battery, I still got the same effect at first but it eventually dried out a little bit and I had a decent experience. I emailed the "service ninjas", as they call themselves, and they told me to put a couple drops in the cartridge making sure not to get it on the sides and one on the atomizer and then to let it sit out for an hour. Well, I had been doing that already, aside from putting a drop on the atomizer.

A couple more days of fighting w/ this and for 2 days I've tossed and turned having a horrible 'nights' sleep. (I work graves so I sleep during the day.) I had a horrible soreness in my neck and shoulders which was causing me to wake up every hour. It's been intense. This is what made me really start doing some googling on the subject of side effects which led me to various forums and great reviews of other brands out there although I think I only saw one person out of the first 30 that wrote about their experience w/ the side effects say that they had stiff neck and shoulder muscles. (Yes, I started getting the normal dry throat but that's easy to combat.) The overall experience has been horrible ASIDE from not smoking analogs, but after the unbelievable soreness and lack of sleep I got, i went back to analogs yesterday b/c I wanted to give my body a break, although I still have a very sore neck. I'm pretty sure that a different brand would give me better results as far as vapor (Joye 510 is what I'm thinking) but the problem w/ refilling the cartridges is just ANNOYING! After only putting 2 drops in them, I have to let them sit for several hours before I can even think about using them but even then I still have issues w/ leaking a bunch into my mouth - and I'm as careful as you can get about just getting the juice into the cotton w/out actually using a syringe.

I love all the good things that come w/ ecigs, like how my lungs feel, the fact that I'm not inhaling thousands of dangerous chemicals, and no secondhand smoke or smells, but the rest has been such a pita to deal w/ and I'm just hoping some people can share some experiences w/ how they dealt w/ it. Buying another one right now is just out of the question so I'm going to have to work w/ what I've got for the time being.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to ECF!

I think there are a couple of articles that might put your mind at ease here:

This quote is from the first one. Link follows the quote:

"7. Muscle Cramps and Aches
Some people report increased muscle pains. One theory is that the PG in eliquid breaks down into lactic acid, which needs to be eliminated from the body.

Increasing water intake usually addresses this problem, whatever its cause. Not reported as much when using VG (vegetable glycerin) mixtures, but this is more than likely due to statistical probability since VG users are only a tiny number of total ecigarette users.

Admin note
The possibility of exacerbation due to ecig use is not only unproven, but unlikely. The problem with attributing muscle pains to lactic acid build-up caused in some way by ecigs is that all normal muscular lactic acid accumulation is topical, that is, if you work a muscle hard then that muscle alone accumulates lactic acid. Muscles are flushed out by natural processes and all lactic acid leaves via flushing, it is not possible for it to be introduced into a muscle even if that muscle is surrounded by others containing lactic acid. This is likely to be a tobacco withdrawal symptom. "

List of Symptoms When Quitting Tobacco and Changing to the E-Cig

This second article will help you understand some of the withdrawal symptoms that might occur when making the switch:

Understanding Your Symptoms While Adjusting To Vaping

Happy vaping and I hope you feel better soon!

1) You can see by the return policy that this company is scamming people :(... Sorry--I bought a POS so did many.
2) My advice: stop vaping for now. It's not worth the hassle and if you're smoking it's somewhat of a waste. Keep the juice.
3) Look in the ECF library and when you can afford to buy a good new product--ask questions here. I'd just start with something with carts/cartos first as filling is a hassle when you're new. Take heart: a good kit is not much and you can use the time to post questions here and be very prepared.

Never heard of Veppocig ?? In my opinion , their return policy , ain't that great either . Might want to stick to a vendor , that has proven itself . Check MadVapes , Liberty Flights , and some of the other Forum approved vendors . I have returned used equipment , and bad accessories , and have never had a problem . JMO

Thank you so much for the advice and replies. With all the information I'm coming across in a short amount of time, it's going to be a bit longer before I can say "hey, I've read those articles!" :)

Ralikar - After reading some reviews on other brands when I was trying to discover what was causing my muscle pain, I saw that a lot that are highly recommended have 30 day money back guarantees, even if the package is opened. (Yeah, that didn't make any sense to me.) That last sentence was, naturally, the last thing I saw.

WomanofHeart - Thank you for pointing me towards those articles. I've spent hours reading through different things but I jumped topics a lot and tend to get caught reading another post that had nothing to do w/ what I was originally searching for so I appreciate the direct links to what I *should* be reading.

I think the advice of just quit vaping for now might be better, but I originally started b/c I knew I needed to quit smoking not only for my health (and my girls), but also b/c I just can't afford to keep buying them. I considered getting the patch again as I have used it before, but having nicotine pumped into my body this way actually made me want to smoke so it was still quite tough to stop. So instead of battling this again as I knew mentally that I just didn't want to give up the habit completely, I was led to a better alternative which still gives me the nicotine and a habit which would ease (mentally) the stresses in my life.

For now - and I hope this isn't too taboo for the dedicated vaporers out there, I am going back and forth. It has helped ease the soreness/stiffness and I at least need to try to get some of my money's worth out of this failed product. I sooo look forward to being able to buy a better brand and will definitely be here to read more and post more.

Oh, and I will definitely try drinking more water. I need to, anyway. :)

Joye 510's are a great choice to start with and it is what I currently vape with. You will get a lot of people saying to start with an ego or Riva kit and nothing wrong with those either. It just depends on the size you want to use and if swapping batteries becomes a hassle for you. Other great mini kits are the Bloog / Volt / Halo G6 all based on the KR808-D1 platform and mainly use cartomizers (cartos) instead of the atty and cart. Some prefer the carts and some the cartos you will just have to see which works best for you.

The one advantage of cartos is you have a great variety of prefilled flavors and quality juices. While more expensive this way it avoids the hassle of refilling for someone just starting out. Even if you don't want to refill in the beginning save your used cartos so you can refill them later when you are ready. It's really easy and there are a lot of you tube videos out there for the process.

If you decide you want to stick with attys and carts I have two recommendations. Look into direct dripping for the best flavor and vapor production and look up the blue foam cart mod. It is much friendlier than the polyfil they come with and allows the carts to hold more juice.

When you say cartridge - there are two configurations of ecigarette. Are you using cartridges or cartomizers?

3-piece = battery + atomizer (heating part) + cartridge aka cart

2-piece = battery + cartomizer aka carto, a combined disposable cart+atomizer

atomizer - need periodic cleaning, can fail and need replacement, you should always have spares

cartridge - just plastic and stuffing, used with eliquid and can last a long time if you replace or cleaning/dry the stuffing and clean the cart

cartomizer - holds more liquid, more consistent way to vape, but limited lifespan of 4-14 days if you keep it damp with eliquid. You have to keep a stock of these on hand and switch to a new one when the old one loses too much performance or flavor. I find thin light colored juices give me longer good performance out of a cartomizer. Thick juices and juices that leave flavoring sediment will clog a cartomizer making them drag poorly and wick poorly. I use juices with 20% VG or less in these

------

I looked at veppocig's cite - it looks like you have a 3 piece? Yes cartridges used with atomizers can dump their juice in your mouth - one of the downsides of cartridges. And re weakened taste maybe you need to clean your atomizer. If what you have is over 9mm diameter then it might be RN4081 judging by the look of the atomizer. or it could be the incompatible similar-looking model some rebranders sell. if it is RN4081 the there are RN4081 cartomizers available at Vaporkings.com and prefilled ones at Smokestik - you could try those and see if they work. RN4081 is not a very popular model compared to 510 and KR808D-1 but at least there is a bit of stuff available for it.

    in a cave, eh?
The Bambino is supposed to be about the size of a real cigarette. It might be a DSE-084/8084. You can get spare parts for that system at Heaven-Gifts. But, I'm not positive about the model and I wouldn't recommend you dump more money into your current system. Unless you want to find some good juice to for your cig.

If your cartridges are prefilled, you can rinse them out thoroughly, dry them out and then fill with your own good juice. I'm guessing you get about 3 drops before the cartridge is full.

If you need something that looks like a cigarette, I'd recommend you look at the Smokeless Image Volt when you're flush with funds again.

If you're okay with something bigger, i.e. the size of a Sharpie marker, have a look at the Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com. It's got much better battery life and will go nice with a set of Boge LR or SmokTech dual coil cartomizers.

You may just want to use e-cigarettes to cut down on your analog use and not switch completely over to vaping until your body adjusts. Good luck.

I really hope you don't give up. A lot of people make mistakes buying their first e cigs but want so badly to quit, they hang in there and end up getting another model. Just stick it out until you can get another one. I think the 510 is a good place to start, and if you want something more, you'll go out and get it.

It takes a bit of adjusting physically to quitting analogs and despite the fact that you might feel crappy for a while, in the end, you'll feel better because you aren't ingesting those thousands of chemicals. The best advice I can give you, without pushing my opinions, is to keep reading the threads on the forums, watch youtube videos, read about what the veterans are writing, keep a mental note of what they end up using and go by that. Do some investigating and come up with what you think is best for you.

Good luck, and hang in there!!! We're rooting for you!
