So I finally received all my e-cig paraphernalia yesterday:
- a 510 disposable complete with 3 cartridges of 24mg "Marl" PG,
- the full Joye 510 starter kit w/manual batts, and
- a variety of 20mg VG juices from Vermont Vapor.
I was a bit confused at first - I immediately started inhaling off the 510 disposable and just getting a funky fog machine flavor, only to find that the pre-attached cartridge was empty - not even any batting. Ick, so that's what primer tastes like...
After sticking the real 24mg Marl cartridge into the disposable, things tasted a lot better, but I still think I don't like that underlying PG flavor...well, I'm pretty sure it's PG there since it tastes just like the fog machine in our lab smells, a certain cloying artificial sweetness. Things tasted better with the Vermont Vapor VG liquid on the manual 510 (thumbs up for blueberry!).
Overall I think I like vaping, but here's the weird part, though: after a few hours of mixing and matching liquids and ecigs, I started to get kind of a brain fog, followed soon after by some serious chills/shivering. It felt quite a bit like the flu, and the only thing that stopped it was getting into bed under the electric blanket, where I ended up just falling asleep. No idea if I had a fever, but it certainly felt like it...
So, has anyone ever heard of these symptoms before? Is this a possible PG allergic reaction? I did notice the PG seemed to cause some immediate chest tightness and cough. Could it be a nicotine overdose? It doesn't seem like I was vaping *that* much, and my heart wasn't racing or anything. I also doubt it was nicotine withdrawal, since I'd had an analog 4 hours earlier (just before the e-cigs arrived). Any ideas what else it could be? Sucking down primer come back to haunt me a few hours later?
It's morning, and no real problems now...though in an effort to narrow the variables here, I'm limiting myself to just the VG liquid. It's now been 17 hours since my last analog, and while I do still want one (especially after just waking up and finding vaping doesn't quite fulfill that morning craving), it's not nearly as bad as if I had just gone cold turkey.
