Hello all! I've been lurking after joining a few days ago. A post here, a post there. I felt it was finally time to conform and start my very own "hello" thread.

And now for my story: I smoked a pack a day for almost 20 years. Towards the end of this past summer, I bought my first eGo starter kit (and boy was I ripped off. $80!!!). It was really to please my wife. I knew that I needed to stop smoking, but was I ready? Not really. So I smoked and vaped through the middle of this past Feb. However, in Dec., I decided that it was time to get serious about stopping smoking. I spoke with my doctor about it, and we decided to give vaping and chantix a try. Yes, my doctor recommended both.

So now today I am 3 days shy of a month smoke free. Yay!

The rig history:

After my overpriced eGo starter kit, I upgraded the tank to the Kanger T3'D. Not bad, but it didn't feel the same, or even better than smoking. So let's get a VV battery. Better, but not where I'd like to be. Hey look, a VW (6 to 18) battery for $25. That's getting a lot closer. Holy cow! Youtube reviews! How did I miss this? Hmmm, lots of praise for the Nautilus and Subtank. I went Subtank Mini just because it's newer. Next, I started looking for a box. Lots to choose from. Plenty of great products. While on vacation, I found a shop and walked out with a Sigelei Mini for $40.

So here I sit on St. Patrick's Day, vaping some honey tobacco mixed with srawberry kiwi through my mini powered mini, while my 4yo son sleeps.

Am I doing this right?

Welcome to the forum themightyturtle. Looks to me like you've found your stride. Congrats on quitting. Don't be shy, the experts here help a lot of people, myself included. Good luck in your journey.

Thanks!

This may need a seperate thread, but what's up with sub ohm? Not rebuildable, but the sub mini came with the 0.5 coil. Am I crazy for trying it just to try it?

Also, I am not a quitter...I stopped. :)

Congrats on taking the steps. Don't worry, you'll make it, just take it a day at a time.
Going through raw deals, finding a device you really like, finding juice you really like and that can replace the bad habit can be a struggle at first, but before you know it, you'll sit back and enjoy your vape and wonder why you ever used those cancer sticks in the first place.

Just keep looking forward.

Welcome to ECF!

Any story where someone cuts down on cigarettes is a good one. If someone quits, this is even better! There are a lot of good stories here to be read.

Sometimes, there are stories of folks who quit the cigarettes by using the simplest form of vaping and more stories of those who also found vaping a powerful hobby. The latter is mine. I vape if I am awake! The journey took me from basic devices to regulated mods and back to a simple mech mod. Money was spent on a bunch of different style tanks and devices. Money was also spent on my journey to find the proper strength and flavor of e-liquid.

To rationalize this spending, I only had to remember how I woke up hacking what seemed like a half of lung every day. A year down the road, I have nine devices and dozens of different tanks and drippers. I have still spent less than the cost of the tobacco products I would have smoked. I have now found my vape nirvana Using a Reo Grand and now only have to purchase juice, unless I want to splurge on another Reo.

Good luck in whatever tobacco free path you take!
