I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I must be missing whatever font is being used by those styles. Never actually updated my fonts before but I know some are not included with Ubu. Easy to install though, all I need is the name. Can ya help me out there soldier? Otherwise I don't really have a prob with the ECF style.

Cheers

I played around with it last week and just changed it to what I already knew I wanted.

Nice to know there are people spending the holiday weeks to do nice stuff for us here and for the forum, performing updates, etc.

Personally I would have preferred being told there was a new style I could choose from and not have it forced on me.

Nobody forced anything on anyone

We made the new theme default today. It's been available for users to use since before Christmas. :)

I'm with you, works great on my 17" laptop! Great for my eyes, I agree. It's fun to switch around once in a while though, too!

If you install the Firebug addon, you can see which fonts are used on a page.

Lato is the primary font for the forums, and Verdana is used for the actual posts.

Looks like I need a Microsoft font (Arial) that will require a bit more work to install than I have time for right now. Kinda odd that Arial is not included with my install of Ubu, but no big deal. I'll just keep using the ECF style and life is good. But I did install a bunch that were missing so, all in all a not entirely wasted effort.

Thanks again.

edit: I have made some progress — I now see Korean language symbols in the editor, so I can either learn a new language or keep trying. I wonder which I will choose...? he he he.

I absolutely love the new theme; the larger font is a huge benefit. I usually prefer dark backgrounds, but I'm used to a light bg for ECF, so I'll stick with that.

My only *slight* problem is... when I use the "Alerts" button up top, to show which posts haven't yet been read, the unread ones have such a light bg color that it's very hard to tell at a glance which are read and which unread -- could the CSS for that bg color, unread Alerts, be darkened just a little, or maybe a different color, as it was with the old theme?

Good job, ECF!

Talk about a dolt. I discovered what the "problem" was with my fonts. Me. I use NoScript and while ECF was mostly white-listed, NoScript was still blocking an "object" needed to run the fonts here. I allowed the object and everything is sunshine and roses now. Boy, I shoulda thought of that ages ago...

Thanks for the tips regardless Retired1. Turned out I did not have MS Truetype fonts installed, but I do now.

edit: Yes, tested and totally fixed now.

love the dark theme but found an issue may have been said already but when in dark theme the alert pup up shows no text it pups up but is blank seems fine if I go back to the standard theme
+1. I thought that maybe it was just light colored type because I can't read small red or blue type in dark theme.
Funny because people that type in color seem to need Xtra attention.

Is this related to the themes (Dark)?

I think the empty pop-up was meaning to tell me that I had a notification.
