Hello all I am a 29/male and I am on day 2 compleatly tobacco free. I could not be happier. I first discovered e-cigs at the gas station about 2 years ago when I was looking at buying a motorcycle. My wife told me that if I get the bike I had to try to quit and that was it! So I bought a cheaply rechargeable that tasted like trash. I used this and smoked for about 2 weeks and all it did was make me smoke more to try and get the taste of that thing out of my mouth. Then it was patches and I got sick all the time from them, then the gum(y'all don't even want to know what that did to me). So I gave up trying to quit. About six months later I wrecked that new to me bike.accident was not my fault but a shoddy repair shop. spent the next 2 months in the hospital and learning to walk again. All this time cig free. when I got home I of course started smoking again. Fast forward to last week and I broke down and decided that I am done! So I started researching and made a decision.I went to a few shops in Tallahassee. This is where I discovered my home shop.a gentleman named Jeff and his father decided to help me and I bought a ego-c Upgrade battery and a pro tank plus 2 30ml bottles of fluid and a lanyard for a total price of 118$ that morning was my last cigarette hopefully for good! I look forward to a positive experiance here and possibly a little moral support from friends on the forums whoever you may be. Thank y'all for your time and for reading my story. I look forward to a positive experiance with all of you and I hope I can gain the strength and some of the knowledge of this forum on my journey.
Thank yall again,
Thomas

Hello Thomas, chainbreaker!!

I have the day I started vaping in my sig "thingy". I find your story inspiring. I am now...I think it's 8 days...analog-free. And I never planned to quit! I just wanted to try the "new hobby". And my analog use went down down down till I was at like 1 or 2 a day and I went "screw it, I think I'll try to quit" and had to come to a sort of "decision" but the vaping was so fun, tasty, non-stinky etc, that the "decision" was easy. NEVERTHELESS, smoking involves a LOT of habits that we "miss" (the one when you get up, the one after dinner, the one during the TV commercial, the one outside with the dog, blah blah blah). I kinda solved that by doing a "vaping session" at those times for a number of days before my last cig. Telling myself if I wanted a cig after the timed (!) 4 minute vaping session, that was ok. This worked great and ...before I was totally analog free that's how I got from 8-9 cigs a day down to 1-2.

Go easy on yourself. I have NOT added a "sig thingy" saying I've quit smoking/analogs, for example because I know people have breakdowns and try them again. I also know from my tiny, not even 3 weeks of vaping that when I "broke down" and had one, it was disgusting and not near as nice as the vaping--this is another thing that keeps me from even wanting to "try one, just today".

I started like you with the horrid disposables from "the gas station" and would have tossed the whole idea if not for this forum. Vape on, Have an A1 Day!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I love hearing halls stories and it is good to see so many people in a similar boat as me. This let's me know I am not alone! I just got back from my neighbors house lol I gave him a spare e-cig I had bought 3 weeks ago that I was waiting on the tank to come in.(came in the same day I bought my ego-c upgrade and protank2 so I gave him the other one.) His wife called me and told me he was in the middle of a meltdown and he had run out of juice so I ran over and gave him a bottle of mine that he really likes and I don't so much. We are both doing this at the same time and I think he will really enjoy vaping. The good thing is that we both work together and I give him a ride to work so there will be no smoke stops from now on for either of us.

Welcome,

It is great to see you sharing the vapor. I am still pretty new as well but am trying to get a few of my close friends to switch over to vaping as well. They are still a bit hesitant but hey, you can lead a horse to water right.
