well if we DO let it go it will have to be in the daytime so he is ours for at least tonight. I have the little aquarium out and am cleaning it right now so it has somewhere to be comfy. not sure what all to put in there for him though. obviously some twigs and what not but what about the bottom of the tank? i have some pine shavings left from when my wife had her horse would that work ok? and should i put in something with some water? like maybe a tupperware lid or something shallow or just a little bowl...

It's a western fence lizard probably...hubby thinks so, but wonders where you caught it? Does it have a blue belly? If so they eat crickets and mealworms.

it has an off white belly. mom and little guy caught it in her garage - it prolly came in under the door. and it was hardly moving i guess from the cold. they had no trouble catching it but now its being quite active and moves FAST when it wants to...

Hhhmm, in Texas we call em Texas Spinny Lizard :D

The aquarium will do just fine, you will need a bottom heater though. Shallow bowl of water and they eat crickets. Petsmart carries crickets, not sure if you have one there though. Most pet shops will have them. They can get pretty big....at least the ones here, being Texas and all, hehe. I have one that it about a foot long that lives in my compost pile.

Well the eastern fence lizard and western fence lizards are the same thing, they're found everywhere, called western or eastern depending on where they live...crickets would be the best thing to feed him, you can find them at almost any pet store.

NO PINE! Newspaper or paper towels are fine for the floor. If your like me and rewash butter tubs  Turn one upside down and cut a little door for it to go in. Top of the fridge will probably be OK for the time being for a heat source.

For an over night stay? Maybe some oak bark to hide under. A shallow lid with a smear of water is a must.
You can keep him, I have... but an expensive light is needed maybe a small heat rock
Crickets, meal worms for a treat (dusted) if your keeping her, talk to the local pet store who would sell reptile stuffs. But be prepare for the "you should not make a wild animal a pet lecture"...

well we think we would like to keep him/her but i think dw and i will be having a talk about it later when she gets home. it really is getting cold out and i think it would be much happier if we make it a nice warm special home. i imagine it will come down to how much it costs to set up the tank with whatever... we have a small local pet store that should have crickets and mealworms and whatever hardware cuz i know they have some lizards for sale...
