I actually did pretty well with a split. I did a morning show so I'd roll in at about 5am, go on the air from 6-9. Then from 9-10 I took calls from record company promotions people then went home. Get a little lunch and hit the sack until about 3. Back on the air at 4 until 8 and then home for dinner and be asleep around midnight. It was a pretty productive time for me, in fact. Felt like I was always fresh.
Then there was a time I had to work all
three shifts each week. I'd do two morning shifts, then stay up for 8 extra hours and do two swing shifts, then stay up an extra 8 to get on schedule to do a graveyard shift. Then up an extra 8 hours again to reset to the morning shifts again. At the end of each week, I had slept each day but I'd only slept 6 times. It was weird.
