Yeah... most school systems have bought into the whole PBIS crap. (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Discipline

The current philosophy of pedagogy is out of whack with reality. Too many kids, too few teachers & too little pay for what we have to put up with. I don't even want to get started.

Luckily, both of the girls still at home are in GT so their school experience is pretty positive. AND class sizes are small, unlike 'regular' classes where you can have up to 33 kids in each. What a fookin' nightmare that is!

I'm all for positive reinforcement (it's how I train my dogs ).....but some of these kids were able to up their grades with viking bucks. I just don't like the lessons that that kinda stuff instills into our kids. It's NOT okay to buy your way outta trouble...and if you have failed in a certain area, you HAVE to WORK harder to improve...not pay for the improvement. And they wonder why this is the "lazy entitled" generation I REALLY don't want my kid to grow up thinking like a Politician Unfortunately, the too little pay is true in most parts, however....not the 2 top schools here. Between friends in the field and the parking lot....well......

Don't get me wrong....many of the teachers are very good teachers.....it's the system that I have issues with (and the few not so great teachers, but they are in few numbers in these 2 school systems). The teachers, from my understanding didn't implement this system....they were told to do it.

he wouldn't be very happy here the past 2 days.....REALLY REALLY COLD!!!!! like negative wind chills kinda cold! I have to go out every couple of hours and melt the ice that has formed on the stray kitty water!

I remember the farm days up there i the north country. Always had to break water for the animals and ya knew how cold that water was and ya felt bad cuz they drank it anyways so thankful to have it They finally after ALL those MONTHS of trying to catch those pesky peacocks up in that neighborhood near Jacksonville area got the job done took them forever to be rid of them thangs
