I'm very sorry to hear that :( I had 3 surgeries on both hands for that and they never could fix it and I have nerve damage today still cuz the first doctor screwed them up. And that was back in 1992. Then meds they gave me for that also added the bonus of giving me cataracts in both eyes from the steroids that were in them, and had to have eye surgery in both eyes a few years ago. So I feel for you babes, I know what you're going thru

Oh man that sucks sorry to hear that. Mine is nerve damage to. 1 st doc i believe stitched the nerve when he sewed it back up :(. I originally started through insurance and after talking with some supervisors it was switched to workers comp. he i guess had a problem with that but didnt say anything until 2 months later. My primary doc told him off. Because he refused to do anything. Second doc tried his hardest but there was so much scar tissue he cleaned it up and it scarred right back up and worse. I had my other done bu the second doc and it has been fine. Unfortunately the 1 st was my right and i am right handed. :(.

My wife was getting numbness and went in to get tested to see if it was carpal tunnel or diabetic neuropathy. Instead, the neurologist sent her in for an MRI and they found it was a spinal stenosis in her neck. Couple months later, she's in having surgery done. She had three discs replaced with donor bone and 4 vertebrae fused along with a nice set of titanium plates to hold it all together. She does have a touch of neuropathy and some carpal tunnelingus she'll need taken care of, but a lot of the issues were addressed by the surgery.

You should check with whatever your state's vocational rehab is (Texas we have DARS) as they often have therapy for that sort of thing. You can be retrained to be a lefty. It's apparently quite aggravating and rarely feels natural, I've heard. But it works out beautifully for most people.

Thats good they found the true cause instead of going thru 1 surgery to find out it was something different. I messed up with my 1st and went with whoever had an opening. I wished I had waited because I now know why he had openings. Once I finally got into the right people the doc that did my EMG tested from the neck down. He could not believe that they never tested past my right elbow.

I am glad to hear her back surgery was successful. That had to be so scary.

It was. She's a brittle diabetic, so anything like that is amplified for her. The hospital was really good though. They had the anesthesiologist meet with her and SHE gave HIM instructions on how to handle her blood sugar and insulin and what not.

Thats good. Sometimes its crazy the way hospitals do things. My dad is diabetic and has neuropathy in his feet and legs. Super super sensitive and he was in the hospital for clots in his lungs and the nurse was putting his medicine lotion stuff on his feet and legs and was not very gentle. My dad almost punted him threw the wall. Luckily for that nurse my mom jumped in and took over.
