I know, I was just joking from a dieting standpoint....has she tried rice cakes? The quaker "Quakes" are pretty darn good, and they come in sweet and savory flavors. Then there's my favorite snack of an apple + 1tbsp of peanut butter.NO Ma'am... seriously... it makes it really difficult to get food for her, especially while pregnant, gluten free foods (such as bread for instance) are generally speaking, AT LEAST, twice as expensive as their gluten containing counterparts... and living on my unemployment budget, buying raw materials and cooking from scratch is just not an option... Her gluten allergy makes it incredibly difficult for her to take in carbohydrates... with that being said... We both believe that she is developing gestational diabetes, as she gets symptoms of (low blood sugar) very frequently... and trying to figure out what she can eat that has enough carbs in it to restore her blood sugar is increasingly difficult... When it happens to me I just eat a couple of slices of bread (usually buttered =d) and I feel fine within 15 minutes or so... But for her we have to look to other options, and conventional sugar (fruits and such) don't nearly match starch based carbs... it's a nightmare...
I'm assuming her midwife is doing a urine dip stick at each checkup...if there's no glucose spilling into her urine, it may just be low blood sugar from not eating often enough. The higher blood volume during pregnancy can actually cause your stomach to empty faster.
It amazes me how quickly that room can get outta hand
