Congrats
thren!
And just in case someone wasn't sure, winter in wisconsin is freaking COLD, snow is cold and wet, and I DO NOT like it up here this time of the year. But I'm having a pretty good time with my in-laws. Just have to make it
through the main event with everyone else and christmas eve mass, where we will have the repeat of shock and horror that :gasp: "Erin's not catholic!!!" I don't mind going to mass so much, but it always comes to a head when I don't take communion-they never remember till then. Mom in-law already had her :gasp: moment again this year, so maybe she'll remind people (the whole process repeats everytime we are up here). There was even quite ado about us not being married in a catholic church, or by a priest. DH patiently explained that we couldn't because I'm not catholic, and they were all "Since when?" It's like resistive memory with these people. Except for that collective :gasp: though, the rest should be fine as DH and mom in-law seem to feel that most of the rest of them like me fine.
But the main points to be aware of: wisconsin AND snow are both cold and largely unpleasant with that fact. White christmases, extremely over rated :shivers:
