Same time here, but I got critter feeding schedules to tend to....and a child to school  Not that the child's schoolin can't wait a few hours, but critters don't allow much delay in their feeding. When they are hungry, they can be quite pushy

Yup. The kids'll wait, but the beasts get very impatient if they don't get fed on time.

You home school?

With some online assistance....yep. He does so much better now. I've been grossly disappointed at where our schools have gone. The final straw a few years back was a Saturday detention for having to go to his locker and not having the "Viking Bucks" to pay for it!!! yep...that's right "Viking Bucks"! They would be rewarded for certain things with basically monopoly money and they could use it to get out of homework, if they forgot something in their locker, pop corn for movie days, etc. I'm sorry, a child having to pay to go to their locker cause they left their book, or homework!?!?!?!?! and then a detention for not being able to "pay" for it?!?!?! What ever happened to detention being for behavior issues? He'd also had after school detention a few times for not having his homework done so many times. Give the boy an F and move on! But detention? Seriously? This used to be a GREAT school.....don't know what happened. Still ranked high, but their values are way off base, imo. I'd have never believed it had I not had to sign the papers for it...letting the school know that I was informed. And this was 7th grade!

And most definitely! Luckily I don't have one as bad as one of my mom's cats (with all claws mind you) who literally walks on her face to wake her up  Hubby takes care of the cats in the morning, but the dogs....well, lets just say, they've been known to push me outta bed

Yeah... most school systems have bought into the whole PBIS crap. (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) Discipline

The current philosophy of pedagogy is out of whack with reality. Too many kids, too few teachers & too little pay for what we have to put up with. I don't even want to get started. :grr:

Luckily, both of the girls still at home are in GT so their school experience is pretty positive. AND class sizes are small, unlike 'regular' classes where you can have up to 33 kids in each. What a fookin' nightmare that is!
