Yes, those wicks look to be pretty large, like about 2mm. I bought some fairly high-end VG in Unflavored 36mg and USP, and mixed it 50/50 to get 18mg, but it's pretty thick. I really like a large tank, and it being clear, or transparent, makes it a lot safer in my mind, as I can see if it's getting low. Don't want any Dry Silica Wicks, you know.
Took me awhile to try the split fire. When I finally did, it was ok, but I liked the vivi better. Then I got a 2.8 head and got used to having to fill it more often, and having drippy wicks when filling, etc and I like it much better now than I did at first. (Ok, well mostly got used to filling it more often) 
I'd say give it a shot, cuz it really does wick great. I just lay the top part on a folded up tissue when I refill and don't ever take the wicks out of the holes when cleaning. Just be careful when pulling those shoelace thingies off when ya first get it. My first 2.8 head got messed up when one wouldn't come off, and I shredded a wick trying to get it off. again

Yup, that looks like the fun part. I've seen people HATE it and give up on it over that. But I guess it just takes a little finesse. I don't mind fiddling with something to get it right.

Maybe you should pick up a package of hand warmers. I use one every day. I keep it in my pocket and it does a wonderful job of chasing away the chill. I get mine @ wally world. About $6.00 for a package of 20.

Sounds like a plan, Yiddle. And I guess you could also use a fat needle-topped juice bottle.
Just thinking about it, Adrena and Yiddle... don't guess your DH's would mind it too much if you took your Top all the way off while refilling. A little side show for him.
