I had an emergency phone call. Have to go help a friend.
TTYL
Hope everything is ok...........
She's OK - now. She cut herself. She was cutting cucumbers on a slicing board. She decided to try sweeping across the blade both directions, and her grandson called her at the same instant. She turned to look at him, and Yikes. It wasn't deep, but bled a lot. Thought we'd have to go to the hospital, but we got the bleeding stopped with Cayenne Red Pepper (her remedy - burns like the dickens, but it works). She sat down for a while to come down from it, so we visited, and I entertained the kid. Then we went to Walgreen's for a padded finger splint (to guard it from bumping), self-stinking stretch wrap (no glues or adhesives - she's sensitive), Neosporin, and Tylenol. I widened the finger slot, so it wouldn't hurt ot cut off circulation, and wrapped it in the store.
The Cayenne Red Pepper (needs to be Red Pepper) helps the bleeding to stop by helping coagulation - it works great on cuts if it's not too, too bad. I've had some pretty bad cuts that it's worked on. We visited until I was running out of
juice - I ran off so fast I forgot my refill bottle.
Sorry for the gore aspect of this (I edited out the details), but she's a very dear friend, and I was glad, 1. that she called me, and 2. that I was able to get there so quickly and help. And I wanted to share about the Cayenne Red Pepper. It can help in an emergency, and even prevent an emergency room visit in some cases.
