This looks like a great initiative, which addresses a real need for transparency and standards.
IMO though, this initiative's success is ultimately dependent on two things: first, the membership needs to reach a critical mass; for now, the group of vendors represented, however well-intentioned and technically competent, is too small to be representative of the interests of the community at large. Second, we can only hope that some other actors (vendors, consumers) will disagree and create other, competing organizations, with their own set of standards, procedures, etc. Only from this kind of constructive dialogue and competition can emerge something really solid, durable, and truly representative.
That being said, I wish AEMSA the best, and I hope this will work out!
