Hi guys

I've been vaping for a couple of weeks, and have been reading here ever since. Great community you have :)

I have a question about flavor and e-juice. I bought some menthol juice thinking that all menthol tasted the same. Boy, was I wrong. The one I got tastes more like eukalyptus, and I really can't stand it. Is it possible to hide the flavor with something like a strong citrus or something? I'm asking because I wen't big and bought a 50ml bottle

Hi Golem,
Welcome. Citrus may work although may not cover that taste completely. I found my cinamon concentrate works on my bad juices as it is strong but also kills my taste buds if i chain vape it. There are some strong tobacco concentrate out there too to make it a mint tobacco vape. But everyones taste is subjective so theres some experimenting needed. Good luck!

you could try to mute the flavor down by diluting it with plain vg (get it at wal-mart).. you might also pick up an ounce of menthol crystals off ebay to punch up the menthol kick.

I've been experimenting with diy menthols myself lately - an ounce of menthol crystals dissolved in everclear will make a menthol concentrate that will curl your toes.. just a few drops of concentrate in a few mils of unflavored nic juice is nice by itself or you can make weak menthols strong or just add a menthol note to tobaccos or fruit flavors..

I've not tried this myself, but you might want to try this: TFA - Smooth - MyFreedomSmokes.com

"A flavor smoothener that is useful to use in concert with other flavors- "Smooth" will round out any harsh edges and provide a thick, satisfying mouthfeel. It will soften the high notes of your blend while boosting your background notes."

You could try the above with or without some concentrated flavorings that the DIY people use: DIY Concentrated Flavorings - The Flavor Apprentice Flavorings - MyFreedomSmokes.com

I would only mix in small quantities while you experiment with what may work for you purposes.

My Freedom Smokes has flavored and unflavored e-liquid, nicotine and no-nicotine e-liquid that you can purchase, as well as beakers and test tubes to mix your juice, as well as blunt-tipped needles/syringes for DIY juice mixing. You can find these in the pull down menu on the left from the home page. Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Thanks guys for all the good suggestions. I decided to try to keep it minty, so I picked up some 'Pure Peppermint extract' from 'Green Mountain Flavors inc' at the store today. It covers up the eucalyptus quite well, but the liquid is a bit less sweet now. Anyway, its way better than before.

Could always pick up some Ethyl Maltol- a sweetener used by Vendors and DIYers.

Peppermint? No wonder it doesn't taste much like menthol, then... :D

Is it alright/safe to just drop a couple drops of flavoring straight into to my clearomizer along with the juice? (i'd like to try it in my other juices as well :)

The ingredients list from the bottle :
Grain alcohol
Vegetable glycerine
Pure peppermint oil
