been struggling with quitting smoking for the last couple months, worst go at quitting i have had of the many times i have "quit" before, and im hoping that an e-cig will help me thru it. i have been doing well lately, but whenever stress gets the best of me, i still smoke. just ordered my first starter kit the other night, and wish it would get here quicker.

Welcome to ECF. Most of us have been there ... trying to quit and having a difficult time of it that is.

I only offer my experience: I smoked a carton a week for more than 35 years. I received my first PV on January 15, 2010 and quit a 35 year habit that day.

Now, it must be said that not everyone's story is quite that amazing, but I'm not alone either ... not at all.

A lot of people have a harder time. Some continue to smoke at a reduced rate for months after they start vaping. Some of them feel it necessary to suppliment with snus.

But, even if all you accomplish at first is a 50% reduction in your cigarette consumption ... that's a big WIN!

For some reason, vaping simply doesn't work for everyone. I don't want that to be a discouragement ... just full disclosure.

What have you got to lose? The cost of a carton of cigarettes, with a good possibility of kicking the coffin nails to the street. :)

And, you've found the right place for all the help you might need along the way. Hundreds of people eager and willing to help you with your questions and help with any difficulties you may encounter.

There's a wealth of information on ECF. Read, read, read. Ask advice. Get a good PV and give it a go.

Again, welcome. :)

I was a heavy smoker for over 55 years, and doubted that I would ever be able to quit. But, I had my last analog the day my Joye 510 kit arrived. I think that you too will be surprised at how much vaping will help you get off your old habit. If you do falter every once in a while - no big deal. Don't worry about it. Just keep on vaping and it will sort itself out.

Welcome Canuck! Good to have you on board. WingCommander is out in NB too. Whereabouts are you?

He's a good resource to have and has become my daily "chat" buddy.. We help each other buy stuff, and then console each other over budgeting. :)

the cheapest thing i could find, as im completely broke right now....lol
its a dse103 with 2 batteries, 1 atomizer, charger, and 5 carts...im not expecting much, but i figured that a low initial investment would be a good idea to give this a try for the first time.

Oh boy.. Wing, methinks this is going to be an uphill battle but the pain will be worth it in the end. :)

LOL, I am just stocking up for next year. Sharing the orders helps me get the cost past the wife's scrutiny - lol
