Hello people, how is it going?

I decided that at 40 years old and coming from the last of the legal for kids to purchase cigarettes era, I want to quit. I remember as a kid from the age 8 or 9 getting bribed with a quarter to peddle to the corner store to buy smokes for my parents.

At age 13 I started smoking as my grandmother from Denmark told me 13 was ok to smoke because it does not hurt a teenager. She would pay me 2 cartons for cutting her lawn once a week. and I used to have 4-6 other lawns to cut also for $4-$6 depending on the size. At 13 I was able to buy a pack of cigs for a buck and a half. Cig's began
When I turned 15 the BC government passed a law putting a age limit of 16 on buying smokes. My reg store never stopped selling to me.

So today I am here as a 27 year smoker teying to kick the habit with Ecigs.

Hi Shades and welcome to ECF from another Canuck :). I smoked a pack a day for 37 years and switched 2 1/2 years ago. It was tough at times the first few months, but I was always able to vape through it when I had to.

You've come to the right place for help when you need it so fire away when you feel the need.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

Welcome Shades from another Canuck!
I as well started smoking 45 years ago at age 13. My mother was a heavy smoker and would occasionally give me one. She had fond memories of her dad smoking a pipe and loved the smell. As a child she would often sit on his lap while he blew smoke rings for her. One day I told her I was interested in smoking a pipe, and by only the next day she had bought me a pipe. Well my relationship with tobacco officially began with pipes and cigars. Yeah those were the bad ol' days.
