Hey guys. I just got started into vaping about a month ago and im ready to upgrade to a box mod. As of right now i have the Ke cig 100+ with the mephisto rda. The mod was great in the beginning but learning more and more about them and now the mod is very inconsistent. Unless its a fresh off the charger battery it barely wants to heat up (running a .2 coil build right now). Can anyone point me into the direction of a box mod for me. Here are the things im looking for. Able to run a sub ohm coil (.5 and lower) and dual battery setup. If yall need more info just let me know. thanks for the add on this forum

First of all, if you coils aren't heating up as well as they used to, it may be time to replace your coils and clean all your threads and connections really well, if you haven't already tried that.

Second, I can tell you that the sigeli 100 watt and IPV3 150 watt are 2 of the more popular regulated box mods, both running dual 18650 batteries and both able to be built down to 0.15 ohms. However, with most regulated mods, it is the wattage that is controlled. Wattage is a measure of the amount of energy essentially being supplied, and its relative to your resistance and voltage. Therefore, your .2 ohm coil on a fresh battery runs at 88 watts. The same can be achieved .8 ohm build when you simply adjust the wattage. You can essentially make different resistance builds act much differently.

Thats funny before i read these ive been looking at the ipv v2 and v3. As far as coils not heating up ive changed them so many times they dont have time to get dirty. ive been experimenting coils to find the one i like but the mod i have is inconsistent so its hard to tell if the coil im building is good or not. One more question then and ill be out of yalls hair. If im interested in the v2 or v3 is there a well known website that would have these for sale? ive searched some of the recommended sites and i couldnt find one that had them. thanks again

And then you have the SMY Gog which goes to 180 watts and takes 3 18650 batteries. Looks like it's in stock here 180 Watt box mod

That thing is

I've been using these guys for a lot of stuff and my orders always ship the day of or day after order. Their prices are competitive too: ipv3 for $140: Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | myvaporstore

Ok i got another question might be a newb question but as far as wattage goes is the 150 w really necessary or will the v2 50w be more than I will ever need. I have no clue what kind of watts my mech mod throws out right now so i dont know how to judge. thanks again. Looks like im either going with v2 or v3 and as far as rdas Im going between the tugboat or the vulcan clone. still doing some reading. im spoiled with my mephisto clone right now but the post keep turning on me when i try to screw down onto the wire.(post arent welded to deck)

The advantage of regulated mods means u can get similar results as low ohm coil on a mechanical mod with a higher ohm coil by upping the power and also have some safety circuitry although they do have limits for instance my v2 won't fire below 0.2ohm but that isn't a problem for me as I don't really go that low the v3 I believe is a little lower and having 2 batteries would increase the use you'd get between charges at the same power as my v2 so there are definitely benefits to a v3

Thanks. after digging into the vulcan clone rda i can already see im going to have a issue with air flow. so my question is how big of a hole should i drill in the vulcan. Im not going to drill out the V like some have done im just going to put a hole right above it on each side

If you want airflow you should look into the Mutation X.
