Hey y'all, I've been reading the board a little and thought I'd join. I'm currently a smoker but as of right now I have a Ruyan Vegas E-cigar on the way to my house to try. I've been researching E-cigs and have to admit I'm pretty much confused about which brands are good and which are not so good. The Vegas might be good but at $35-$45 a cigar that's pretty expensive. So of course I'm hoping to find a cheaper one to smoke regularly if I like the Vegas. Right now I'm leaning towards the Smart-Fixx brand or this one. http://www.myecig.com/5201/10701.html

I will continue to browse around here and gather more information. I look forward to learning a lot more about these.

Welcome. I use a pen style cig from myecig.com. That site is run by a long-time forum member named Meltrex. Helluva nice guy and wise in matters of e-smoking. He'll answer any questions you have before making a buying decision. I have only good things to say about the Meltrex pen style, but I have no experience with SmartFixx.

Good plan, but with one flaw; The Ruyan Vegas does not smoke the same as a regular e-cigarette. It's engineered to emulate a cigar, meaning you have to puff hard on it, and the smoke has it's PH adjusted to absorb easily in the mouth.

Check out my video, I demo 4 different models, including the Vegas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcz5_E5B6as

That should give you a good comparison.

It's your video that so blew me away for a Ruyan Vegas! It outdid everything -- and I know you didn't inhale, which you shouldn't do with a cigar. If I remember you said you didn't exhale much vapor when you tried inhaling the Vegas. That's perfect for social settings.

I'm also reminded of the bumper sticker: I don't mind if you inhale smoke, just don't exhale.

Yeah, I am aware of that but I do think that it should be OK enough to decide if I want to spend more money on something else. Plus I occasionally smoke a cigar so I may like it, plus it won't kill me if I inhale.

Well it arrived today. Exactly 2 weeks after I ordered it. I reckon that's not too bad considering it came from China. My 1st impression....WOW!!!! I love it. I inhaled so of course I didn't get any smoke coming out but with 2 or 3 drags it satisfied my craving for nicotine. I may order another one soon and see how long these last me. If I can get them to last 2 weeks or so I may just stay with these.

I smoke about a half a pack a day normally. However I have chronic and severe back back and often I have to take pain meds, on those days I smoke like a chimney but I'm hoping to cut that down. My thought right now is that between this and my "Aeros"(link below) and my nicotine gum I can quit smoking.

I will keep everyone updated on how I do.

http://www.aerosinfo.com/ These are OK. Not the greatest things in the world but they do give you nicotine.

Yeah, the Aeros have their place but as a replacement for smoking they're not very good. I use them if I get a nicotine craving in Church, I'll go to the bathroom and take a couple drags. 1 thing I did to cut down on the harshness is instead of cutting one side all the way open, I just cut open a small hole so you have resistance when you draw in. That way it's easier to control how much "harshness" you get.
