New Guy Here

Hello all,

Since I'm a new member and therefore required to post here first, I'll start off with an introduction and throw out a few basic questions I've had. My name is Chris, live near Detroit, MI and have been vaping for almost a year now. As I do not have an internet connection at home, and as my phone is extremely limited (its internet is about as useful as a knife in a nuclear war), my ability to do research into vaping has been rather hindered. Most websites won't work on my ancient phone, but alas, one of the links that will consistently work and lead me to the information I seek is ECF! So thankyou for that! From what I've gathered in the several threads I've read, this is the haven for veterans, and in my quest for vaping knowledge, I've decided this forum is a must for me to regularly visit.

I use an eGo, generally with the standard NR atty it came with (still using the same one successfully) and occasioanlly with LiquidXpress' LR cartos, along with liquid from LX. I've had a lot of interest in DIY liquid and when I have a little more money to play with intend to order a substantial quantity of base, nicotine and flavorings to experiment with. I hope to someday be among the juice artisans you all respect and refer to, but before that day can come I'll need to benefit from the experience and knowledge of all you veterans here! Also, I'm a huge electronics nerd, and plan to do plenty of tinkering and mods (and hopefully improvements) when my resources allow for it.

So a few questions: Where is a good, reliable vendor of DIY juice suppliers with prices that won't break the bank? The best prices I've come across seem to be at www............, but when trying to get information on their respectibility and reliability, I came across a BBB complaint list online. I've scanned the negative supplier review forum here only to turn up nothing about them, but recall having read a post here some time ago from somebody saying something along the lines of "We all know not to buy from there." Am I to understand that they have such a terrible reputation in the vaping community that they don't warrant mention among the negative reviews of reputable suppliers?

Also, as I've been in the habit of buying juice in quantity to save on shipping, I'm left pondering whether juice is considered to have any kind of expiration date. I make sure to store my juice at room temperature in tightly closed glass bottles (from LX) inside of a tackle-box-type case with all of my other vaping supplies. Have noticed a change in taste and color over time of some liquids, but have read that "steeping" or aging of liquids is a typical practice of some flavor afficiandos.

And what kind of supplies should I have for DIYing? I have syringes, beakers, graduated cylinders, eyedroppers, etc. Anything in particular that's considered essential mixing apparatus?

Thanks in advance for any advice and I look forward to a long and fruitful stay here!

...I take it there must be a rule against posting links, and for that I apologize. Still new here and learning the customs. The site I refer to is e-cig dot com.

It is not against the rules to post links; however, I have just learned that there are a couple sites that ecf's software automatically deletes from being posted, so that must be one of them.

I can tell you that I get all of my DIY from Wizardlabs.com. I think they are the cheapest for nicotine and close to the cheapest for PG and VG. they ship everything very well packaged (lots of bubble wrap).

I see where your company (e cig) sells 250ml of 100mg nicotine for $103. Wizard Labs sells the same stuff for $30! However, personally, I don't buy the 100mg. In case of a spill or accident; that 100mg is bad. I usually buy the 60mg.

Sounds like you've already got most of the mixing supplies, but perhaps some gloves -- especially if you're gonna be working with 100mg nicotine.

Hopefully someone else will come along to answer your questions about life of the supplies.

Also, if you go to wizard labs website, you might want to take a look at their flavors; all sold in 8ml sizes. Mostly Perfumers Apprentice and LorAnn brands.

Hi Lochrian - I think the best thing for you to so is get 5 posts up in the new members forum, and then head to the ECF DIY juice forum: DIY E-Liquid
I think it will be a good ongoing resource for you.

Lots of helpful people and info there. Once you have 5 posts give the server about 30 minutes to reset, then you can post in other forums.

*bumpety bump* So can anybody tell me anything good/anything bad/anything period about that e-cig dot com website? It seems like they have great prices, and while most of their stuff looks cheapy, some of it looks reasonable. Is it a scam site or what? Almost ordered from there a couple times as it's one of the first sites to turn up on a google search for "e cig" and other such variations. Yet to find any reference to it on here save for randomly stumbling upon something about it like 6 months ago.

That's what I did do and that's why I'm so confused. Some people say they're a scam company, others say they're a great supplier. I'm hoping to get some difinitive advice from a vaping veteran with personal experience orderng from them. Further confusion comes from the consumer affairs reports where some people refer to ecig dot com, a completely different site from e-cig dot com.
