Hello all,
Since I'm a new member and therefore required to post here first, I'll start off with an introduction and throw out a few basic questions I've had. My name is Chris, live near Detroit, MI and have been vaping for almost a year now. As I do not have an internet connection at home, and as my phone is extremely limited (its internet is about as useful as a knife in a nuclear war), my ability to do research into vaping has been rather hindered. Most websites won't work on my ancient phone, but alas, one of the links that will consistently work and lead me to the information I seek is ECF! So thankyou for that! From what I've gathered in the several threads I've read, this is the haven for veterans, and in my quest for vaping knowledge, I've decided this forum is a must for me to regularly visit.
I use an eGo, generally with the standard NR atty it came with (still using the same one successfully) and occasioanlly with LiquidXpress' LR cartos, along with liquid from LX. I've had a lot of interest in DIY liquid and when I have a little more money to play with intend to order a substantial quantity of base, nicotine and flavorings to experiment with. I hope to someday be among the juice artisans you all respect and refer to, but before that day can come I'll need to benefit from the experience and knowledge of all you veterans here! Also, I'm a huge electronics nerd, and plan to do plenty of tinkering and mods (and hopefully improvements) when my resources allow for it.
So a few questions: Where is a good, reliable vendor of DIY juice suppliers with prices that won't break the bank? The best prices I've come across seem to be at www............, but when trying to get information on their respectibility and reliability, I came across a BBB complaint list online. I've scanned the negative supplier review forum here only to turn up nothing about them, but recall having read a post here some time ago from somebody saying something along the lines of "We all know not to buy from there." Am I to understand that they have such a terrible reputation in the vaping community that they don't warrant mention among the negative reviews of reputable suppliers?
Also, as I've been in the habit of buying juice in quantity to save on shipping, I'm left pondering whether juice is considered to have any kind of expiration date. I make sure to store my juice at room temperature in tightly closed glass bottles (from LX) inside of a tackle-box-type case with all of my other vaping supplies. Have noticed a change in taste and color over time of some liquids, but have read that "steeping" or aging of liquids is a typical practice of some flavor afficiandos.
And what kind of supplies should I have for DIYing? I have syringes, beakers, graduated cylinders, eyedroppers, etc. Anything in particular that's considered essential mixing apparatus?
Thanks in advance for any advice and I look forward to a long and fruitful stay here!
