Hello all! My name is Jordan aka slammed500
New to the whole vaping scene. Been a smoker for years, picked up a few cheap e-cigs here and there and always went back to smoking. One of my buddies picked up a Vape pen from the local smoke shop and I tried it out and loved it. More of my friends picked them up, and all quit smoking cigarettes entirely. I decided to try it out. So I went down to the smoke shop and picked up a cheap pen. Looking around online it seems as though this is a knock off of an AtmosRX Optimus 510 vape. I love it so far!
The LSS had a Build-It-Yourself package for like $18 and you could pick your own battery design, cartomizer and drip tip. Being a car guy, I got a Carbon Fiber look battery, smoked clear Cartomizer and Drip Tip.

Also picked up one for my girlfriend, same style, different design.

And a few bottles of E-Juice

Any input from more experienced Vapers or tips/tricks are appreciated!

Welcome aboard Jordan! Congrats an trying out the hobby again... My first tip to you would be to get back-up's of everything if you are going to give it a serious go. And I mean everything!
Then you will need back-up's for your back-up's! Nothing worse than being out and about and have a coil go bad or a battery dies Give it some time and you may want to get something a little more serious too, such as a eGo Twist/Vision Spinner for Variable Voltage (VV). Step up from there to an Innokin MVP 2.0 for Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage (VV/VW).
Then you start stepping up to Pro-Tanks and the like... Suddenly you're looking over the Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers (RDA's) and then you're wallet starts to hate you!

my biggest tip for newbies

Backups! - you do not want to be caught with a discharged battery or a dead clearo tank and then decide to buy a pack of cigs.

once you have backups to your main PV

get more backups

then get extra eliquid once you find one you like, now don't freak out and buy 200ml just get an extra 15 or 30ml bottle and stick it in the freezer for emergencies

Here is what I currently have for devices and backups (it did take me a month or two to get to this level of compul- paranoi- reasonable amount of devices and backups)
2 vamo's
1 MVP1
1 Zmax 3
1 Nzonic mech
2 Ego Twists 650mah
2 Ego 350mah (1 is always in my pocket - just in case - remember high school and that ring imprint on your wallet)
1 Ego 1100mah passthru
2 wired VV passthru's (1 in car, 1 in house)
multiple 510 and 808 cigalikes (with carto's) stashed away in car and around house (kinda like an alcoholic hides booze)
2 kayfun lite+ (clones - as the real ones are always out of stock)
8 assorted Protanks (1, 2, and mini's)
12+ evods
12+ assorted vivi nova's, iClear16's, ce4 style clearo's (not in regular use - emergency vapocalypse backups)
AGA-T2+ and assorted RDA's
about 200 ft of Kanthal in assorted gauges
about 100 ft of assorted silica
2 bags of organic cotton
8 18650 batteries
2 18350 batteries
and for DIY eliquid
2 quarts of PG
2 quarts of VG
500 ml of 60mg nic base
1000+ ml of assorted concentrated flavorings
400ml of eliquid mixed, steeped and ready to go

and still cheaper than smoking a pack and a half a day

Welcome to my new world. We have started with similar hardware. I'm a few days ahead of you (time wise in this forum) and there are two things I have learned so far. #1 - This is much better than cigarettes. #2 - There are some better toys out there. You can learn a lot from this forum. My advice is read, read, read.

Simply stated, I bought mine to take to a bar that banned smoking. Three days later, I found I was too lazy to smoke, and had not had one in a day and a half. I realized WoW...I have accidentally quit cigarettes. I have not even wanted one... This is so much better - and, I smell better.

Thank you everyone for the welcomes and the tips! I will definitely get backups. I am still currently smoking cigs but from a pack a day to having 4 in the last 24hrs I'd say it won't be long!
