Hey guys! As stated, I'm new here. I've been searching for some outside knowledge, besides my local vape shop, and I found ECF! Nothing wrong with my vape shop, they just don't carry much in juice or hardware. So a little background on me: I'm 27, about to start dental school. I used to smoke in high school and quit after 3 years. So not a long smoker. I began smoking hookah pretty consistently last year with a group of friends while I was at grad school. Now that I've moved and haven't made any friends yet, I've gotten into vaping, and let me tell you...it's FREAKING AMAZING! Haha, the local vape shop hooked me up with a Tobh clone, and authentic JD Tech Stingray with a 0.35 ohm dual macro coil set up. Loving it, but as I look around, I'm getting the sense that I could do better. Nothing wrong with my current set up, but when I fall into something, I like to go all out. So I'm looking for what some would call the "high end mechanical mods and RDAs". So I'm hoping the vast knowledge of ECF can help me out!!

Things I'm looking for, not in any particular order:
1) simple; I like the simplicity of the Stingray. Some other mods I like are the Nemesis, anything by RJ mods, and the MCR101. I like mostly brass/copper, but a good contrast between copper/ss or brass/ss is nice too.
2) magnetic switch; every review I read, people talk about the voltage drop from a spring and I don't want that. Plus I love the mag switch on my Stingray.
3) low voltage drop; I don't want to lose any POWAH! This kind of goes hand in hand with number 2.
4) tubular mod; I don't want a telescoping mod, mostly because I think they are ugly. I have 4 18650 batteries and 2 18500's. So basically I'll use 18650's.
5) hybrid option; this one is a pretty big one. I like the fact that there is no additional hardware the battery has to go through to get to the atty and I LOVE the flush/fitted/perfect look.

I think this is a pretty extensive list of demands, haha. I'll give a small list of mods I was looking at before I posted for an idea of what I was thinking about getting to help you guys out. Notice: some of the mods listed do not fulfill the list of requirements I listed above.

RJ Mods - Turtle Ship Mod
RJ Mods - Constellation Mod (Rabbit)
Atmomixani - Nemesis
MCR Mods - MCR101 (probably my first choice)
Tarsius - 4nine mod
Vapourart - GP Paps (not sure if this is the right company)
Caravela mods - Caravela mod (not gonna get one because it's hard to get and small but they would be nice!!!)

Ok, so I feel like I was a little long winded but I hope you guys can help me upgrade my vaping! :) Thank again. OH, and if you could, could you guys help me pick out an RBA also. I don't know much about them so any knowledge would be helpful too, I only know about the Tobh v1. And RBA's in general. I was thinking about a Genesis style tank or a tank in general but the guys at my local vape shop steered me away from them saying it was WAY too complicated to deal with if I'm just vaping while I'm studying or gaming.

PS: I'm currently vaping mother's milk. I didn't like it in store, but decided I'd try it and it was AMAZING in my dripper. It's either mother's milk, or Passion or Sour Grapes from Vape Dojo. Passion is awesome too, check it out! :):vapor:

Hi as for a RBA, I think, in my opinion, two of the very best flavor producers are the Taifun, and the Kayfun. Both produce a exceptional flavor and dense thick vapor. You can't go wrong with either of these two. They won't disapoint! A bit off topic but good luck in your dental carreer. I myself did dentistry for over 25 years as a R.D.A. it's a very challenging job, but I do miss some aspects of it. Wanted to wish you well with that.back to the subject, both kayfun and taifun are fairly easy builds and you can't go wrong with either. Best wishes

First of all have you done some research or have the knowledge on safety etc? If not this thread is a good starting point to learn http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=465483

For the tubular hybrid mech maybe a nemesis with hybrid connector upgrade or a 4nine.

Now the attys, for RBA maybe a kayfun if you want something that's easy to build and for RDA you could try Origen or Magma if you want something with a deep juice well and Stillare if you want more airy stock airflow. If you want a non rebuildable, the mini nautilus is the best non RBA I've tried so far.

I think your tobh is already a decent RDA. But nothing is ever enough for us vapers so just try anything you set your eyes upon lol

Edit: I guess I'll edit my reply since it's not relevant XD But I think you're set up pretty good unless you just want some extra toys to play around with. Possibly a Reo Mod in your future, as I am hoping with mine.

Ha thanks! I like my set up, but I really want something that turns heads, lol. Maybe I'm just being too much.

The only thing I could suggest is that you get a " kick " to protect your battery , and you .
All the other things you have are quite nice . You may also like a kangertech areotank .

I don't quite understand the benefit of having a kick? I make sure to use my ohmmeter to check my resistance and make sure to keep within the battery's safe guards. I understand it's a VV/VW adapter/converter? What would that do for me? I'm sorry, I just don't know anything about the Kick and what it does, haha. Thanks for your help!

Yeah I've been looking into the Kayfun. I don't quite know if I want to go with an tank style or another dripper. I love the flavor I get with drippers. So we'll see...I'll probably end up with another dripper for now and get tank later when I feel a little more adventurous! :) And thanks for the well wishes. I know it's gonna be a tough and rewarding career. Just gotta get through school so I can pay back loans! :\

Yeah I got a good lesson at my local vape shop and I also did some good research on my own. I've still got a lot to learn, but I know about the basic to intermediate safety. I'm pretty good with physics so I'm good with Ohm's law and what it means and how it works. Hmm...I really want something really nice. I see some nemesis's and they look SICK! So that's definitely an option, to be completely honest, I think I might go with the MCR101 just because it looks amazing, comes with the hybrid option and is pretty rare. When it comes to the Tobh, I love the tobh (well clone that I have). Would it benefit me at all by going with an Authentic tobh? I know this is over kill but I was thinking about going with a plume veil, Magma, Tobh v2.5, Patriot v2, or what I'm REALLY leaning towards the CATZ by RJ mods...I know it's over kill but it looks awesome and has AWESOME reviews. Haha...and you're right...decent is never enough :\

Again, thank you guys so much for your feedback. It's very helpful. I hope to be able to contribute and I know I will learn alot from ECF. So thank you again! :)

For that lots of attys why not get lots of mods too lol.

You'll never be disappointed with authentics, better performance? Nah, some clones even performs better (on rare occasions). But the thought that you have the real deal, supported the developer, and better machinery so it looks more flush is a definite huge plus for your soul and pride. Not to mention that you can show off to people that you got the real deal[emoji6]

Your setup seems fine to me. If you want a versatile mech that can be insanely safe (as far as mechs go) with a fuse or alternatively run with as low a voltage drop (as is currently possible) with springs or nothing at all you might check out the Atmizoo Lab series. They go from 18350 up to 18650 and the shorter ones can be made to accept larger batteries with extension tubes that are practically invisible. they are side fire which is a positive or negative depending on who you talk to. For a good atty, I personally love the Spheroid and Heron from GP. Tons of flavor, can be run with filler so no leaking, easy to build, great support from the builder.

OH, and if you could, could you guys help me pick out an RBA also.

Although I think your setup is damn good, if you are interested in another RDA,I would recommend to Plume Veil. Tremendous air flow from sides, negative posts and top. Air flow can be adjusted for single or dual coil. Easy peasy building because of T-positive post with mounting screws for each coil. Currently one of the best RDAs on the market ATM.

The only thing I could suggest is that you get a " kick " to protect your battery , and you.

If he continues to run a .35Ω coil, a Kick won't fire it. Neither will the Kick2.

the kick can be used with 1.5ohm~6.0ohm atomizers, with the 5W~12W variable watts, sequence with +/-1W.

Max current is 5A

Kick2 Specs:

Output Power- 5 Watts to 15 Watts
Output Voltage- 2 Volts to 6.3 Volts
Output Current- 6 Amps
Atty Resistance- 0.5 Ohms to 3.3 Ohms

I'm always down for rewarding hard work and creativity, just me personally.

What you get as a "head turner" will probably depend a lot on your own personal taste. Take a look at the "picture of your setup" thread (here: ) to see many different choices and styles. Of course, there are probably even more, but you'll begin to form an opinion of what is "cool" to you.

Yeah I started looking at those and that's what kind of got me desiring a better set up. Haha >_<.

Hmm...I looked into that mod, and it's actually pretty nice! I've never had a side firing mod, well since my original crappy $20 clone. The atties are nice too but I can't seem to find them in stock anywhere. Sigh...the struggle of upgrading. Haha, thanks for your inputs...it's definitely added some contenders to the list.

Your settup is pretty nice!!! I would consider one of those new-fangled 50w variable voltage devices if hitting the RDA hard is what floats your boat.

The kick doesn't work with my set ups...my resistance is too low :\ but thanks for the suggestion! :)

Yeah I'm probably gonna pick up multiple pieces just over a span of a few months so I don't break my bank. I think the first RDA I pick up will be a Plume Veil or the RJ mods Cats RDA...looks sick just can't find TOO many reviews about it. All the ones I read are positive though. Now just to find a Plume Veil in stock...then I'll go with a tank style, probably a heron. Sigh...time to go hunting! :\

I never thought I would enjoy a box mod until I got ahold of a REO. I would say don't dismiss it off hand because of the form.

As mentioned, the Stingray is a pretty strong first mod. If you want to stick with a tube mod, look into an Atmizoo Roller or Lab. The Roller is a telescoping mod but it is a fantastic device and I understand the Lab (never had one but am very familiar with Atmizoos quality) is a great PV. They are more understated than most other mods out there but beautiful in their simplicity.

Another quality company with great products is Metal Madness Vapors (MMV, link in my sig) and they have mods with everything you are wanting. My Poldiac went with me everywhere until I found REOs mods.

Once you've had a dripping atty, nothing else, IMO, will do. I know taste and style are subjective but I have found the best vapor production and flavor with a dripper. The Magma is on my short list of drippers to buy, I've read great things about it.

Best of luck in your vaping journey and your new career :toast:

Are you interested in an authentic or a clone. gotsmok.com says they have the original in stock for $104.99 when using coupon code 5OFF.

you have a Tobh and they say a genesis is too complicated??? you dont have to use SS mesh in a genesis setup, you can use silica (3mm) from the tank to the build deck and cotton ontop of that with a nano horizontal laying in the cotton... cotton stay dripper wet.

I'll have to look into that. I have 2 Nautilus tanks, and a few Aerotanks. I guess I can try them out. I was told by the local vape shop that a dripper was my best bet for flavor and vapor, so I never thought to use my other tanks, although I can't seem to work out the leaking issue on both tanks... :|...thanks I'll look into it. I may PM you later if I end up with a genesis style tank.

I don't mind the REO but on the off chance that I do go somewhere with it, I want my mod to be pocketable. I don't expect that I'll be going very many places with my vape but at this point, I haven't settled in in Baltimore yet so I don't know what I'll be getting into.

I looked at the Atmizoos Lab, but it's just a little too boring for me. If they had brass and SS combo, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. I did look at Poldiacs. They are nice, but I think what tripped me up was that I can't tell the difference between the classic or the sleek. Also, is there a hybrid adaptor for it?

DANG IT JAX! Haha, I looked at that website, it links to Vapordna and they are out. Whomp Whomp.

I'm REALLY debating picking up the RJ mod Turtleship V3 with the Cats atty. It just LOOKS sick. Not much info out there though. sigh...#firstworldproblems.

EDIT: Just in case anyone wants to know, Vapor-hub has a few in stock...I'm gonna wait for the new version to come out before I purchase. Patience is hard...lol
