Hey, all.
First, I'd like to thank all of you. Over the last several months, I've learned SOOO much from this forum. It's an invaluable resource for someone relatively new to vaping. As I progress and evolve, I expect to learn so much more. I'm glad to be a part of what's going on here.
My story:
I was a pack-a-day-plus smoker from 1992 until around 2007, when I met a girl (now my wife) who abhorred smoking. I started exploring alternatives and bought an e-cig so I could still smoke without her knowing. It was a cig-alike with a little green LED tip that lit up when you took a drag. It was terribly unsatisfying. So, I explored some more and found Swedish Snus. I loved the stuff. This got me by until last year (only smoking 1 or 2 cigs a day during my morning commute), when the teeth stains and receding gumline finally convinced me that I should, again, explore alternatives. (I really miss my Ettan, though!)
Early 2014, I found nasal snuff. It's great, especially at the office. Very discreet and as, if not more, satisfying that snus (nicotine-wise). But I was missing something. And I found myself smoking (and wanting to smoke) more... even taking the long way home to have an extra cig and blaming traffic. ;-)
Just before Thanksgiving 2014, I hit a local vape shop near work and picked up a Vision Spinner II and a Protank 3 Mini. I haven't had a cig since.
I still take snuff for most of the day, but during my commute and whenever I can sneak a toke, I vape. (It's not a secret. I just don't like to do it around my wife and kid... personal preference.)
But now, 4 months later, the Spinner and Protank are leaving me wanting more. I started, as do a lot of us, with tobacco flavors. But I quickly moved on to the caramel, vanilla, custard, nutty flavors, while occasionally partaking of a fruity cream. I'm loving it. The problem, though, is that at my nic level (18mg), the flavors seem muted... and I want more.
I currently have Surfrider, XXIX, Magma and Aqua v2 clones in the mail and on their way. I went with mech's because, well, I'm a manual-transmission, DIY-kinda' guy.
So, that's my story. Welcome to my world.
